Answer:	Short answer, Yes. This tripod is strong enough to handle any 35mm format camera and lens combo (less than 20lbs of total weight). If you’re using a lens that weighs more than the camera body you should use a lens mount to the tripod head to prevent the mounting ring on the camera body from bending or warping. Also, at a rating of almost 20lbs, this tripod should work for any medium format camera and many large format cameras as well!
Question:	will this work with a spotting scope or is it set up primarily for cameras
Answer:	“In General” spotting scopes and cameras (film SLR, DSLR, mirrorless, video...) use a standard 1/4 inch attachment that is on almost all (haven’t seen one that doesn’t) tripod heads. Tripods are typically sold as a set of legs and head, but they can be found separately. Legs connect to the head typically through a 3/8 inch connector. The head to the camera or scope through a 1/4 inch connector. For a spotting scope, you’ll probably be happiest with a video type tripod head, but in general, any head should work just fine.

Answer:	Sorry this is so late, but hopefully this will help. As far as stability is concerned, this tripod won't let you down. However, for video, panheads just aren't the best way to go. This particular panhead is very smooth and will work decently for video and outperform most other panheads I have dealt with, but you're really going to want a different head for video if you intend to use this tripod.The stability and versatility you get with this tripod are phenomenal for the price. You could buy the legs only (around $100 right now on Amazon) and get a fluid video head (EI-717AH for around $75 on Amazon) and have a great video tripod package for the same price as the 700DX with the panhead. That would be the route I would go if I was planning on shooting video with my tripod.

Answer:	Keep in mind if you get the one with the pan head that it is very hard to fit it into the case. I usually have to remove the handles to get it in.
Question:	Can this tripod get really low to the ground/spread out on the ground without extending the arm out
Answer:	The Legs DO fold out further, so that you can get lower to the ground. If you want to get lower, what you can do is slide up the middle piece all the way up, it comes out. Then you can flip it upside down so that the camera is now between the 3 legs. Sure your photo will be upside down, but that's what the rotate function is for in your photo editor.
Question:	Its so confusing,whats the difference with the 263 tripod kits and tripod, does that mean for 169$ you only get the tripod head
Answer:	The trick is to look at the last (second) letter in the model number. If it ends with "T" then it's just the tripod legs. "B" stands for ball head, so if the name ends in "B" you get the tripod legs and the a ball head. "P" stands for pistol-grip head. The first letter stands for the name of the material: "A" for aluminum, "C" for carbon fiber. So if the model number is 263AB, it means that it's the aluminum tripod legs plus a ball head.
Question:	Is there any difference between the 263AB and 264AB? I'm not really seeing any difference
Answer:	Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB is both taller and larger than the 264AB. Both are virtually identical in weight, and have identical 7.0kg load capacities.I own both, the 263AB is a full-size (height-wise) tripod, while the 264AB is subtly more compact, which is noticeable when you set them up side-by-side. If you are of average height you may find you do not need to extend the center column with the 263AB very often, while you will probably need to extend the center column on the shorter 264AB most of the time. This technically affects stability, but the ~4" of extension is generally not significant for casual use. Question:	The description says "Universal ball head design with 2 locks and 360 degree dial..." Are there separate locks for panning and the ball position
Answer:	I have had a 1DSMKii with a 600L lens on it and the ball head held it fine. That said it was more a test per say, not sure I would feel to great on using the head for that particular combo routinely, but in a fix with me right there, it will do. Just need to make sure the lock knob is very tight. Also thought tilt pan is pretty good, not the smoothest head by any means and the tension knob has very little fine tune adjustment.
Question:	Does this allow for vertical photos? I am taking pictures of dresses
Answer:	If you will be doing a lot of "portrait" format photography, like dresses, you really want to get an inexpensive L bracket like the 3 Legged Thing QR11-LG Universal L-Bracket. Then you can easily mount your camera in the verticle orientation on the tripod.
Question:	As a retired photographer I have a number of medium aluminum Bogen tripods..How does this compare
Answer:	I don't have a Bogen although I know their rugged reputation. I have found the Neewer carbon fiber tripod to be very light weight, less than half the weight of my aluminum heavy duty tripod. I am in France now, using it with a Nikon d7100 and some fairly heavy telephoto lenses and it is rock steady. Very easy to use and set up. The quick lock camera mount and shoe are easy to use and has no play in it at all. Really like. Has a nice hard case cylinder with strap for carrying. One of the reasons I got it is that is very compact and fits in my luggage easily for traveling.
Question:	This looks like the MeFoto (by Benro), but much cheaper. However, I'm wary of buying from "knock-off" brands. So, is this as good as the MeFoto
Answer:	Newer makes stuff in all ranges of quality. I have stuff from them that has been fantastic,this being one of them and I wouldn’t call them a knock off co. Either. I’ve bought stuff that cost 3-4 less. So look at how often you need it and how you will use it. I’ve had this thing everywhere and watche my buddy struggle wit a high dollar one. I could buy 5 like mine for what he paid for his. You’ll see all kinds of stuff made by newer with different names on them. They are a rock solid company with super customer service and yeah, they make some inexpensive stuff for people who don’t have big bucks to buy the fancy crap so they can still reach it on a tight budget. I do a lot of Astro with this so some of my work requires heavy gear and this works great.
Question:	Do you get 60x worth of zoom? And is it clear at high power
Answer:	I did not consider the max zoom acceptable. I did not feel the image was clear. It required a tripod for any hope of focus at that distance; even then it was not clear. I returned the them for a refund.

Answer:	It seems to be fairly weather resistant to me so far. Water beads off the finish easily. The two permanent legs are built so they won’t fill with rainwater. The monopod leg has a rubber seal ring built into the coupler to prevent rain from filling the tube. Screws & bolts have light anodized coating, might rust eventually if you leave it wet - Dry off your gear! I don’t believe the feet are absolutely water-tight, so I don’t know what will happen if you stand it in water. One side note for Astrophotographers: the feet do not have retractable metal spikes under the rubber pads. They’re just hard caps with a little tread, semipermanently attached to end of a bare tube. Feet are OK for faster shutter photography, but they jiggle a bit in the wind, which will effect your time lapse or Open Shutter long exposures.

Question:	Too heavy? When using the center column at an angle, my Sony a7 w/ 55mm lens weighs it down
Answer:	The center column is not meant to be used at an angle on this model. The only reason it pivots is to allow the center column to reverse and save some space with the head in between the legs when everything is folded down. If you want a tripod with a center column that you can use at an angle, try one of the Vanguard Alta Pro models which has this feature. I also use a Manfrotto 055 model which has a center column which works at an angle.

Answer:	The ball head it comes with is Arca Swiss. Now I use Manfrotto so I just unscrewed the Arca Swiss palate from the ball head stem and screwed a Manfrotto one in its place. I assume you can do the same thing with your type of plate.

The screw hole on the top of the connect adapter does not allow the screw head that goes into the stem of the ball head to counter sync and sit flush with the top of the connect adapter plate. It sticks up to high. This prevents the Quick release plate from being able to clip into place. The modification is not hard to do. I had to buy a counter sync drill bit ($8.00 at HomeDepot) and open up the top of the hole so that the screw would go down enough and the screw head would sit flush. For that reason I am only giving this 3 stars. Now it works perfectly. I am extremely surprised since this is an original Manfrotto product. You would think they would know their own products better.
