Question:	Can this tripod head turn to pan during video
Answer:	I have used it to pan. However, it's first motion is a bit sticky/jerky (when you begin the pan). Smooth after that. Haven't tried putting a drop of oil on the pivot point yet. That might help, don't know for sure. I mostly use it for stable shots like interviews but have used the pan on a few video's. It's not bad for the price.

Answer:	I have had a 1DSMKii with a 600L lens on it and the ball head held it fine. That said it was more a test per say, not sure I would feel to great on using the head for that particular combo routinely, but in a fix with me right there, it will do. Just need to make sure the lock knob is very tight. Also thought tilt pan is pretty good, not the smoothest head by any means and the tension knob has very little fine tune adjustment.

Answer:	If you will be doing a lot of "portrait" format photography, like dresses, you really want to get an inexpensive L bracket like the 3 Legged Thing QR11-LG Universal L-Bracket. Then you can easily mount your camera in the verticle orientation on the tripod.
Question:	As a retired photographer I have a number of medium aluminum Bogen tripods..How does this compare
Answer:	I don't have a Bogen although I know their rugged reputation. I have found the Neewer carbon fiber tripod to be very light weight, less than half the weight of my aluminum heavy duty tripod. I am in France now, using it with a Nikon d7100 and some fairly heavy telephoto lenses and it is rock steady. Very easy to use and set up. The quick lock camera mount and shoe are easy to use and has no play in it at all. Really like. Has a nice hard case cylinder with strap for carrying. One of the reasons I got it is that is very compact and fits in my luggage easily for traveling.

Answer:	Newer makes stuff in all ranges of quality. I have stuff from them that has been fantastic,this being one of them and I wouldn’t call them a knock off co. Either. I’ve bought stuff that cost 3-4 less. So look at how often you need it and how you will use it. I’ve had this thing everywhere and watche my buddy struggle wit a high dollar one. I could buy 5 like mine for what he paid for his. You’ll see all kinds of stuff made by newer with different names on them. They are a rock solid company with super customer service and yeah, they make some inexpensive stuff for people who don’t have big bucks to buy the fancy crap so they can still reach it on a tight budget. I do a lot of Astro with this so some of my work requires heavy gear and this works great.

Answer:	I did not consider the max zoom acceptable. I did not feel the image was clear. It required a tripod for any hope of focus at that distance; even then it was not clear. I returned the them for a refund.

Answer:	I've never owned the Slik, but the RetiCam I have. (ready for what?) But I do own a Slik 700 prodx, which, like all their tripods, is very sturdy and well-built. Features-wise the RetiCam is probably superior, but this doesn't mean crap if it isn't durable. If you plan on using it a lot IN THE FIELD for macro, as I tried to do, the SLIK is probably far superior. If you plan on using it at home to shoot toys etc. then the RetiCam will serve you well. Just don't get it mixed up with the toys or you'll never find it (My son has toys made better than this). I'd still go with the better build quality you get from Slik. POC? NOT!!

Answer:	It is possible, but it really depends on what you want kind of adjustment you want to do and the size camera you will have on the ballhead. The friction adjustment is fairly coarse but it is very easy to adjust and I can make quick adjustments to re-position my camera.

Answer:	Hello,I put this cam in my 88GT 347 4 summers ago and I love it!!! I went to comp cams when I started building my 347 and told them I wanted a motor that I could drive to work ,errors, highway like any car. I wanted to be able to sit at a stop light and not worry the thing would quit, sputter like other high performance cars and boy did they deliver with this cam!! It makes power right from idle to 5500rpm. I mean when you hit it, its all there just hang on. But if you want to make power at higher rpms than I wouldn't use this cam. But if you want all around use able street car, then this is the cam to have. Hot Rod mag did a article on this cam 4 years ago, and said that Ford should have used this cam in all the 5.0 back then, it was that good. But like I said it is low rpm cam that will make you crap your pants when you hit it!!! Also it has a nice lobe after my motor gets up to temp sitting at the stop lights. Question:	How well woukd this work for a 6 ft person
Answer:	I am 6 feet and it is fine as a travel fill in tripod. Purchased for a trip to Scotland and it fit in my carry on. I will use for hiking and keep it handy in my truck but I normally use a larger steadier tripod but mostly I hand hold and lean on things for support. I guess this is a positive review depending on the use you are looking for and the price and weight is right.

Answer:	If you read down in the specifications for this camera it says the following: 1. If you are using a camera with large zoom or telephoto lens, you should use a lens ring mount to prevent over-balancing. You can also use a weight on the column hook. 2. This tripod could not converted to monopod. Since I don't have a lens that large I would contact the company and ask them which tripod would be best for your camera. It's working great for me and what I have but like I said, I don't own a lens like that (yet) !
