Answer:	Yes, there's some minor surface rust in the center of the bowl. It's cast iron so that's not a surprise. It doesn't affect utility; for me, it's not a problem.

Question:	What is the distance between the legs? Would it go on a 26"x26" deck defender
Answer:	Yes, it should fit comfortably if you turn the fire pit so that the legs are aligned with the corners of the deck defender. The fire pit has four legs that form a square or diamond pattern. If you think of each leg as sitting at the corner of the square, the distance between the two on the same side of the square is a bit over 20" and the diagonal distance between the two legs on opposite sides of the table is just under 29" (the distances are with regard to the curved metal legs and would be about an inch less if you leave the leveling legs attached). The diagonal distance between corners on a 26"x26" deck defender will be just under 37", so you should be fine as long as you orient the fire pit legs to sit in those corners. In other words, the footprint of the square the fire pit legs form is smaller than the square of the 26"x26" deck defender.

Answer:	The bowl is 22 inches. As far as the tile goes it's just as pictured. The great thing about this pit is it has level adjusting feet.
