User questions & answers

Question: I have a Sony alpha 58 and considering a Sony 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 and a Sony 55-200mm f/4-5.6 lens. Which would best suit my needs for sport photos
Answer: As you go up om magnification two problems happen. 1 increasimg blurrimg with less motion. Therefore you need a tripod. 2. There is less light so you need lower f stops in the 3 - 4 region. Of course these restrictions can be overcome with more costs
Question: Will this fit My Sony A
Answer: Yes. It will.
Question: Will it work with the a
Answer: Hi Bety V., yes this Sony SAL75300 lens will work on your Sony A290. They are both A-mouth type of lens/camera. -Ely
Question: does it work with sony A55 camera
Answer: Yes Alpha models all use the A-Mount lens systems. Unless you are getting an awesome price for this lens or someone is giving it to you, I would not recommend this glass. It will rapidly end up in your closet after a few uses. Why? The zoom range is poor and the f-stop is quite narrow limiting your abilities to shoot in low light without a tripod and low shutter speed and high ISO resulting in grainy photos. The Sony 75-300 originally came as throw away "kit" lens on the first gen. A100.For a long zoom lens I would recommend the Sigma 18-250 or Sony 18-250. You will pay more for this lens but in the end you will find it has much more utility, smaller footprint, faster glass, your most useful lens and much more happier with your photos.

Answer: the second answer is wrong. this lens has the E mount.
Question: Hi, i have the original sony Nex-5 with the Sel1855 Lens. Is this compatible? If yes, i will buy this immediately
Answer: On the NEX 6 this lens has a focal length equivalent to 105-300mm on a full frame camera such as the a7r. I don't have a NEX 6, but it works beautifully on an a6000.
Question: Is this a power zoom
Answer: Not exactly a landscape lens, but yes can be utilized for landscapes...on the A6000 it has good reach and fast auto focus, on the A7r it has lovely IQ but slower...if you add a Canon 500D or 250D Close Up Lens to it (Screws onto the front of lens and it's a small threaded lens) you can shoot very nice close ups with it...http://acwilli.smugmug.com/Partial-Eclipse/....http://acwilli.smugmug.com/A7r-70-200-Canon-500D/...

User questions & answers

Question: will this work with a Sony DSLR A
Answer: Yes this lens will work well on the A300. Something to consider though is what you are going to use it for. The 35MM 1.8 seems to be a bit sharper and is better for portraits. We have both and find ourselves reaching for the 35MM much more often than the 50MM because of the extra width it offers. The 35MM is a few dollars more but offers more versatility :D
Question: Will this lens work with my Sony A
Answer: Yes, surely it will works, this lens works in any sony a-mount camera like a200.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it fit for Sony a
Answer: Hello. This lens is designed for Sony A-Mount cameras. The Sony a6000 is an E-Mount camera so in order for this lens to work, you must use an LA-EA adapter.
Question: Just ordered a sony a7...my 1st sony after using nikon... will this operate on the new a7? thanks
Answer: The Sony 50mm 1.4 is an A mount (the A7 is an E mount) so will fit on it only with an adapter (LA-EA3 or LA-EA4). So just get an adapter and you're golden! I'd recommend the LA-EA4 as it has a built-in AF motor, aperture-drive mechanism and Translucent Mirror Technology to enable continuous phase-detection AF. Enjoy!
Question: Does this fit a65 dlsr
Answer: Hi,this lens can fit for a65. Thanks.
Question: Is this lens an auto-focus or a manual focus lens or both
Answer: The lens itself is not auto-focus but it does have the contacts on the lens mount for the camera to auto-focus the lens.

Sony FE 70-200mm F4 G OSS Interchangeable Lens for Sony Alpha Cameras

Sony

Based on 171 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Sony SEL70200G 70-200mm Interchangeable Lens for Sony Alpha Cameras. Angle of View 34°-12° 30' The small size, versatile 35mm focal length, and outstanding overall performance of this Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* lens make it an ideal match for compact 35mm full frame format E-mount bodies. Although the optical design is state-of-the-art, this superb wide angle lens remains true to the original Sonnar concept with a bright F2.8 maximum aperture (“Sonne” means “sun” in German). Three double-sided aspherical elements minimize aberration so that stunning contrast and resolution are maintained right out to the image edges at all apertures. The renowned T* lens coating contributes to natural color reproduction as well. When changing your aperture to defocus the background, the light sources appear blurred. This ‘bokeh’ effect of the blurred background can be enhanced with circular aperture blades used in this lens. Conventional aperture blades have flat sides creating unappealing polygonal shaped defocussed points of light. α lenses overcome this problem through a unique design that keeps the aperture almost perfectly circular from its wide-open setting to when it is closed by 2 stops. Smoother, more natural defocusing can be obtained as a result. Effectively suppress reflections that can cause flare and ghosting with Sony’s original Nano AR Coating technology. This precisely defined regular nano-structure allows accurate light transmission, contributing to high-quality images, even more so than lenses with coatings that use an irregular nano-structure. The reflection suppression characteristic of the Nano AR Coating is superior to conventional anti-reflective coatings, providing a notable improvement in clarity, contrast, and overall image quality. As focal lengths get longer, lenses built with conventional optical glass have difficulties with chromatic aberration, and as a result images suffer from lower contrast, lower color quality, and lower resolution. ED glass dramatically reduces chromatic aberration at telephoto ranges, and provides superior contrast across the entire image, even at large aperture settings. Super ED glass provides enhanced compensation for chromatic aberration. Aspherical lens design dramatically reduces spherical aberration while also reducing lens size and weight. Spherical aberration is a slight misalignment of the light rays projected on the image plane. This is caused by differences in refraction at different points on conventional spherical lenses which degrade image quality in large-aperture lenses. Specially shaped “aspherical” elements near the diaphragm restore alignment of light rays at the image plane, maintaining high sharpness and contrast even at maximum aperture and can also be used at other points in the optical path to reduce distortion. Well-designed aspherical elements can reduce the total number of elements required in the lens, thus reducing overall size and weight. Advanced Aspherical (AA) elements are an evolved variant, featuring an extremely high thickness ratio between the center and periphery. AA elements are exceedingly difficult to produce, relying on the most advanced molding technology to consistently and precisely achieve the required shape and surface accuracy, resulting in significantly improved image accuracy and quality. Once you’ve adjusted focus to where you want it, pressing this button on the lens barrel will keep the lens locked to that focusing distance. The preview function can also be assigned to this button through the camera’s custom settings. This function allows you to set a limit on the focusing range which can save you time during AF operation as the lens will not ‘hunt’ through the entire focusing range. In macro lenses, this limit can be on either the near or far range (as pictured). In the SAL70200G, the limit is set on far ranges only. In the SAL300F28G, focusing can be limited either to a far range or to a range that you specify yourself. Only the middle groups of the optical system move to achieve focus, so the overall length of the lens does not change. Other important benefits include fast autofocusing and a short minimum focusing distance. Also, the filter thread at the front of the lens does not rotate, which is convenient if you’re using a polarizing filter. Aluminum alloy is used in the construction of the G Lenses and other high-end lenses to ensure high optical performance. This material is lightweight, durable, and highly resistant to the effects of temperature change. Gyro sensors built into the lens detect even the slightest movement, and the stabilization lens is precisely shifted to counteract any image blur that might occur. The use of precision, quiet linear motors and technology inherited from high-end Sony professional camcorders results in exceptionally quiet, effective image stabilization that contributes to high-quality movies as well as stills. The dust and moisture resistance design makes this lens appropriate for heavy-duty outdoor use, especially when combined with a camera that employs weather resistant measures. 2014 Sony Electronics All rights reserved. User questions & answers

Question: Does this FE 70-200mm lens mount directly on an A7 camera, or is an adapter required
Answer: This lens is an F1.8 it is sharper and the GM master is an F1.4 which will give you a slightly more blurred background (bokeh) than the 1.8 but it’s also three times the price due to Buil quality . According to DXO the images they produce are right on par with each other it just depends on your preference
Question: Given this is a full frame lens, what compromise does it have pairing it with NEX6, which is not a full frame camera
Answer: Yes it is.
Question: Is this lens good for shooting landscapes or is it good for close ups? Help
Answer: It is the same lens, the model name went through a small modification due to tariffs.
Question: Will this lens work with the Sony A
Answer: This model number is not listed on Sony website itself. It also retails for $549 (after discount, full price $599), not $249.99. No way Sony will release a new version of a lens for less than half the price of the original version. This listing is a mystery!!

User questions & answers

Question: What is the difference between a fe mount and e mount? so, would my lenses from the a6300 work with the a7iii
Answer: FE indicates that it is a Full Frame Lens. The a6300 is not a full frame camera it is APS-C. The a7iii is a full frame camera. Both the a6300 and the a7iii are E-mount bodies and can use the same lenses, where they will differ will depend on the selected lens and if they are FE or APS-C.
Question: Is it worth getting this kit lens
Answer: I have the 24 - 105 mm G lens. It replaced the 28 - 70 mm kit lens on the A7ii. If you can afford the up grade do it. If not the 28-70 kit lens is not a bad lens, its just nothing special.
Question: k 60fps
Answer: This camera only shoots 4k at 24p and 30p.
Question: Could you please define the difference between a7 iii and a7r iii
Answer: A7 III has 24.2 megapixels while the A7R III has 42.4 megapixels. The A7 III focus system has 693 points that covers 93% of the sensor area while the A7R III has only 399 points that cover 68% of the sensor area. The A7R III has a more sophisticated sensor stabilization system. The 7R III has Pixel Shift Multi Shoot. The A7R III has a far higher resolution EVF. There are other differences but keep in mind the A7R III body only is about a third more money.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work on my Sony A
Answer: This and other Sony SAL lens are designed for the alpha series Sony DSLR cameras such as the DSLR-A100. This is a great lens for the price.
Question: Will it work with the A
Answer: Yes, but you will need an adapter since the a6300 is an E-Mount body and the SAL30M28 is an A-Mount lens. Here's a link to all compatible lenses for the a6300 http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/cscs/accessories/compatibility.php?area=us&lang=en&mdl=ILCE-6300&cat=7
Question: Does this lens fit the DSLT Alpha 99 from Sony
Answer: HI J.W., this is a DT lens for use on APS-C cameras only. Alpha 99 being a full frame camera, this lens won't work on the Alpha 99 as expected. Following is an extract from this lens's brochure:"Lenses marked "DT" (Digital Technology) should only be used on APS-C format cameras because their image circle isn't large enough to fully cover a 35mm full frame sensor. If you do use a DT lens on a full-frame camera, expect to see a darkening of the image towards the edges of the frame (vignetting). Although only E-mount lenses can be directly mounted on E-mount cameras, DT lenses can be mounted on these cameras via an optional adaptor."
Question: Will this lens work with the sony a58 DSLR
Answer: Yes. I have the a58 and it works really well with the camera. I actually love this lens. I am new to photography so this lens fit my budget and allows me to get real close to the subject. I have a sony telephoto lens and the stock lens the camera came with. Usually, this is the lens that is always on my camera since it can work for portraits as well. At least, I use it for portraits too!...I would recommend this lens if you have the a58.

User questions & answers

Question: I have Canon Lens? Will it work with this camera
Answer: I'm debating sticking with Canon or migrating to the a7 platform. This video from TheCameraStoreTV on adapter performance with various lenses was incredibly helpful. Yes, focusing is slower than when done natively, but I find the examples they used in the video to be useable/acceptable amounts of delay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=213&v=_FVCHHRD7Y8
Question: For legacy lens / manual focus shooters only, does the ibis really warrant getting an a7ii vs. an a
Answer: For me it does. At age 65, my hands may be a little more shaky than yours, but I've reached the point where I almost always insist on IBSI in my next camera. You pay for that privilege ... no doubt, but for me it's worth it. If price is a consideration, then the Olympus E-M5II has the best IBIS available, and you'd be surprised how close it really is in IQ and high ISO performance. But of course it's 16 MP vs 24 MP. I'm currently selling my A7II here on Amazon (look for M33Photo), after deciding to keep the E-M5II. It's like new with a very low shutter count and I always take great care of my equipment.
Question: what is the difference ($300.00 worth at sony site?) btwn 7m2k and 7m
Answer: Hi ampm247, there is no difference between the two. The ILCE7m2k comes with a kit lens. The ILCE7m2 refers only to the camera body. Thanks_Mitch
Question: Are these the best replacement batteries for this camera? http://amzn.to/2lEGjgN
Answer: I've gotten 4 of them Elena and have been totally satisfied. I shoot underwater images and video. As you know, the camera's a power hog but the batteries have not let me down...I'd say go for it!
