Answer:	The knife comes with a fairly sharp factory edge - a bit grabby and rough from the grind, but that's typical from a new blade. This edge could easily be improved with ten minutes and a smooth Arkansas whet stone if you're up for it and need to shave with it though. I don't have my knife at hand, but the blade is about five inches, and did come with a kydex neck sheath. I utilize mine as a potential "escape hatch" in a Level 1 contamination suit should I need out quick, and I feel that it is suitable out of the box.
