Answer:	My hotel room in South Africa had two different types of outlets. This adapter will work for the Type C outlets. This adapter will not work with Type M outlets. I'd take both this and a Type M adapter.

Answer:	Just got back from a 15 day stay in China and uses the adapter throughout with no problems. Used on 240 volt supplies and even on 120 volt systems, encountered no problems. Even here in the states when I only had a single 120 V plug, when I wanted to connect multiple UPS cords the adapter worked without any problems. For a laptop or any other piece of equipment verify that the laptop or Kindle, iPad whatever, doesn't draw more power than the adapter is certified for.
