Product description

Get the most out of your home audio system by ensuring the best connection from your speaker cable to your receiver with the Sewell deadbolt banana plugs. Using self crimping teeth These plugs provide a simple, secure, and low profile connection without requiring soldering or screws. These 1.6” inch plugs are extremely low profile making it so you can put your speakers or receiver closer to the wall. Unlike other banana plugs that use low quality metals like zinc alloy The Sewell deadbolt banana plugs use pure copper and high Quality brass with 24K Gold plating. Installation one of the best things about the deadbolt banana plugs is that installation is quick, secure, and requires no tools. Just follow these steps. Feed the cable through the bottom piece. Push the cable back over the teeth on the bottom piece. Screw the top piece to the bottom one. You're finished. All in all you should only need 10-20 seconds for this entire operation. What are banana plugs? Today, many electronics use the banana plug interface, also known as binding post (referring to This connection in its female form). this female binding post connection that accepts this banana plug is found commonly on virtually all audio/video receivers, speaker wall plates, and more. Banana plugs offer an alternative to inserting a bare speaker wire into the equipment. Often a bare speaker connection is not as reliable as a guaranteed banana plug connection. Wires tend to get pulled out or frizzy after time passes. Banana plugs require only one install, giving you a permanent and robust connector at the end of your speaker wire.

  • 24k Gold Plating on Connector and Crimping Teeth
  • Fast Lock technology makes it easy for self crimping a reliable connection.
  • Heavy Duty Brass Casing for maximum durability
  • Wider base minimizes shorting for maximum signal transfer.
  • Maximum Wire Size 8 AWG (10 AWG suggested)

User questions & answers

Question: Are these 4mm or 2mm diameter pins. I need 2mm but none of the good banana plugs are labeled
Answer: 4mm. All banana plugs come in one standard size.
Question: Can i use these on a 12v system as power feeds? if so how many amps? looking for at least 15a on 12v
Answer: That should work fine on a 12v power supply, we use those plugs for a similar purpose on the variable power supply that we have here in the lab.
Question: Can I use with 18 gauge speaker wire
Answer: Yes 18 gauge stranded wire will work fine.
Question: I have the old style speakers that have the connection that you press to push the speaker wire into. Will this work with the new style plugs
Answer: If you are asking if the banana plug will fit into the connectors you push the speaker wire into then the answer is probably no. For that type of connector I would consider coating the ends of the speaker wire with a thin layer of solder once the ends are in good shape so they will be easier to connect and disconnect.

User questions & answers

Question: I bought terminated speaker wire on both ends (banana clips). Is it possible to unscrew banana end and screw these in? For spring loaded speaker
Answer: Thank you for your support. This wood shaping disc is a curved shape. The outside diameter is 4 inches, the inside diameter is 7/8 inches. If you need flat grinding disc, you can visit our flagship store.
Question: Can these be used as an adapter? Can you connect banana plugs into them, so you can go from banana plug to spring
Answer: This adapter fits on grinders with 5/8"-11 standard threaded stud, and please use variable speed angle grinder, and control RPM within 3000 for polishing
Question: Dumb question, so I need two of these per speake, one for red one for black? I have Bose cube speakers. Using Theseus better than bare wire? Thanks
Answer: Yes. Because this air grinder is heavy and stout you let the weight of the grinder do the work. No vibrations what so ever.
Question: Is it 12 pairs of pin connectors for a total of 24 pieces
Answer: It's a variable speed grinder but there isn't really any way to set a specific speed. You have to manually vary the RPM with the paddle.

  • Female connection on base of each plug for connecting multiple speakers from a single output

User questions & answers

Question: Which end of the banana do you plug it into
Answer: Yes this will work with 12 awg wire.
Question: which is thicker a 12 gauge wire or a16 gauge wire
Answer: Two-12-gauge wires is doubtful. I can vouch for their ability to accept a single 10-gauge wire, which why I bought these. Most banana plugs max out at 12-guage, btw.
Question: Is the banana plug the same as an rca plug
Answer: assembled, they are 1.803" long and .422" wide at the knurled part of the barrel
Question: The female connection each plug is said to have is hard to visualize. Is there a picture demonstrating its use
Answer: I had a similar question when I had purchased them, but no one knew the answer. I contacted Sewell and they informed me that the silver colored coating on the plugs are non-conductive. So if they touch it will not blow out your speakers, nor damage the receiver you are using. However, should a conductive material touch the gold plated portion of the plug then it WILL short, and possibly do damage. Hope it helps.

User questions & answers

Question: im trying to make my own test leads for different applications, will these work/fit with a voltmeter
Answer: Depends. It should fit as the multimeters use standard banana plug socket innerds, but for years commercial test leads have no longer used bare plugs because of the hazards associated with accidental contact which would be shockingly dangerous if working with high voltage (yes, these meters are routinely used in high voltage electrical applications - my meter carries a CAT III rating for use with 1000V, CAT IV for 600 V). BUT, I mainly use my meter on ham radio stuff and sometimes on cars - all low voltage DC applications.I just ordered these to make a current (amperage) test rig with Anderson Power Pole sockets. Again, I stress that I am working with voltage running significantly less than 30V (sometimes 24 V systems in aviation or other automotive systems), but I will wrap the plug bodies in heat shrink insulation to minimize likelihood of contact.
Question: I've read that these plugs can accept 12-18 AWG wire; however, I'd like to know what you all have used/what is working best
Answer: I use 12 gauge on my fronts and 14 on my surrounds with no issues. The 12 gauge was a little difficult to get wrapped back around and then screw down, but I really don't know of any banana plug that would we easier, without going to the kind where they use a screw to fasten. This is the easier, cleaner look in my opinion!
Question: The description says: "Can accept bare wire and spades. " How do you connect spades
Answer: As PCKIDZ replied, this is a two function connector. The banana plugs are pushed into the hole in the end.If you unscrew the barrel which is knurled, the smaller shaft is exposed, where you can slip on your spade lug and then tighten the knurled shaft to secure the lug.
Question: whats the differance between open screw and closed screw banna plugs
Answer: "Open Screw" type plug (side wire) allows for daisy chaining or stacking additional banana plugs to the back. This is desirable in DJ applications if you're running a speakers in parallel and if your amp can handle the low impedances. Closed Screw type has the wire at the back.

Ensure the best connection between your speaker cable and your receiver unit with these open-screw banana plugs. Banana plugs also ensure that you'll only have to wire your speakers up once, rather than stuff the unterminated speaker cable into your receiver and hope that it never comes out. Banana Plug Diagram How to Install Open-Screw Banana Plugs Unscrew the bottom of the banana plug. Feed the wire through the hole in the center of the bottom screw OR feed the wire through hole in the side so the speaker wire conductor makes contact with the top of the plug. Screw the bottom of the banana plug back up till it tightens down on the speaker wire, securing it to the banana plug. Your speaker wire is now ready for connection. Easy To Install Banana plugs make installing speakers much easier. Instead of unscrewing the connectors in the back of your receiver and wrapping the speaker conductor around those screws, utilize the banana plug holes with these banana plugs. Attaching the banana plug to the speaker itself is easy. These open faced banana plugs allow you to simply feed some of the bare copper conductor into the hole and clamp it down with the screw. Daisy Chain Each banana plug also features a female banana plug connection on the bottom, allowing you to connect multiple speakers from a single speaker output. This serves as a splitter, allowing you to mirror the sound as many times as necessary.

User questions & answers

Question: The end of my wires are soldered, and I want to attach them from the end, will they work
Answer: No
Question: Could u give me the exact size of this banana plugs? The maxium diameter of this banana plug
Answer: Also the opening would be too small for banana plugs
Question: Will the speaker wire enter through the back of the screw? On one picture the red wire seems to be entering through the back, but not clearly visible
Answer: Yes I would suggest using these over bar wire. You will need two plugs per speaker. This pack comes with 12 pairs or 24 plugs total.
Question: Here's a stupid question. Can these plugs also be connected to the back of a speakers connectors or are they just for connecting to a receiver
Answer: Yes, 24 pieces for a total of 12 pairs. With pin connectors on both ends of the wire, you need 4 connectors per wire, 8 to do a pair of speakers with connectors on all ends.

User questions & answers

Question: I buy last time this banana plugs for my receiver denon avr 6500h i try to inserted but it can't go through i thought this standerd for avr &spea
Answer: When new, the plugs are somewhat of a tight fit. Hold the AVR and push firmly. They will fit.
Question: My Yahmaha amplifier has flip/squeeze plugs, not the round ones I'm seeing here. Will these work
Answer: I tried it on a flip style and they were too big. The measurement of the plug is 0.15" or 3.85mm at the tip, at the widest 0.20" or 5.3mm. Your flip connectors may be larger than my example, a quick msr of the max gauge wire you can use will answer.
Question: Can i use these plugs with the speaker cables "rattlesnake 6" with a profile of 6mm^2? or what plugs are to prefer for these cables
Answer: This would not work with your speaker cables as FOSCBL-2312 is 4mm. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Question: is this a 4mm plug
Answer: Yes you are correct, this is a 4mm Banana plug.

Silverback Speaker Wire by Sewell with Silverback Banana Plugs, 10 ft ,12 AWG, OFC, 259 Strand Count, Terminated

Sewell Direct

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Silverback Speaker Wire from Sewell offers deeper bass, greater clarity, better imaging, and cleaner highs from your connected loudspeakers and AV receiver. We've developed this speaker with the highest quality standards in mind. Instead of getting 90 to 100 threads of copper in 12 AWG wire, we've put 259 strands of copper into each conductor. Not only does an incredibly high strand count bring greater flexibility to your installation, but it also allows the current to travel around each strand (259) so that the speaker setup can play with less distortion at higher levels because it can move more efficiently. This is called the “Skin Effect” of speaker wire. Silverback Speaker Wire was designed to overcome all obstacles that plague audio fidelity.

  • 12 AWG wire
  • Oxygen Free Manufacturing
  • 259 Strand Count
  • Pure Copper
  • Premium Jacket for Durability

User questions & answers

Question: These are sold as a 2-pack for around the same price on Sewell's own website. Are there two cables (2 sets of red/black) for two speakers
Answer: The top, where the stem attached to the tree -- where you normally start peeling the banana. But, no need to peel first before using these, as they will plug right into the stem.
Question: Can I use these speaker wires which are 12 gauge from a wall plate to my receiver if my in wall wire is 14 guage
Answer: I read somewhere that says the gauge number is actually a fraction of an inch. So the higher the fraction the smaller the wire. e.g. 1/12" is larger than 1/16"
Question: it is one cable or it is a pair
Answer: No. It's a single conductor.
Question: Can I cut one banana plug end to use bare wire with standard "clamp" terminal on stereo, even though the speakers I have are binding post connector
Answer: It is pretty simple. You should have a whole in the middle of where your speaker wire hooks in. Instead of using raw wire you can attach it to the plug and then plug it in the receiver jack.

User questions & answers

Question: I need to connect new jbl studio 530 shelf speakers to harmon kardon avr25 receiver plus a bluray player plus a cd player - what do i need? thank you
Answer: I guess that really depends on how big your wire is. I have 14ga wire and I put my wires in from the end. All you need to do is be able to bend the tip of the wire 90 deg. Probably only 1/16" or so. If you have really thick wire (something silly like 4ga), you may just want to solder it in.
Question: will these work with a Yamaha RXV-381 recieiver
Answer: Inside diameter of large gold end (male, part that screws out) about 5/32". Inside diameter of large silver end (female) about 1/4". Inside diameter of side hole about 1/4". Outside diameter of large end about 3/8".
Question: Does this item have banana plugs on both ends
Answer: You can put the wire in through the back. I'm not sure how the wire would stay in as they're showing it. I used a flexible wire tie to pull the end of the wire through the side hole after feeding it through the back. This ensured a secure connection once it was screwed down.
Question: I have in-wall speakers. i guess i can use these for the speakers. can i connect my tv directly to these speakers
Answer: some receivers accept banana plugs and so do some speakers (usually "better ones)

User questions & answers

Question: Do these fit most recievers, or are they too large, like some say in reviews? I dont know what to trust
Answer: I have a High-End Denon and these plugs work just fine. They have a nice heft to them. You'll see. I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved them. A special note: I dont know what gauge wire you are planning on using. I bought 8 awg wire and it barely fits in these plugs. 12 awg or smaller will give you ZERO problems. Don't sweat the petty reviews. I assure you these bad boys are WELL WORTH THE MONEY!
Question: Will these work well with klipsch speakers and denon av receiver
Answer: They should work very good with Klipsch speakers but may be to big in diameter for the Denon Receiver. They were to big to fit into my 1980's Kenwood 9400 Receiver speaker outputs. Randy
Question: I see the gold plating but what is the base connector material, brass or something else
Answer: Kay,As I draft this response I am holding one of these darlings. The flyer that comes in the box doesn't state the make up of the base material, however I can say it is very heavy for it's size and if I had to guess I'd say it is brass. The silver collar you see in the picture appears to be aluminum with a rubber grip, but the interior of the collar itself appears to be brass as well. The manufacturer provides customer support contact info on the flyer:Customer Support:Phone: 856-216-8222E-Mail: [email protected] hope that helps.
Question: Do these work with speakers that have the "push in" type of connectors and not the binding plug like the back of a receiver
Answer: Depends on which type of "push-in" connector you mean... there's the (square) "spring terminal" connector that is most common in speakers and has a small hole for inserting the cable, and there's also the newer (circular) "push-in binding post" that will accept either the banana plug or the bare cable.

User questions & answers

Question: How do you connect these to a 12 volt "go Box" cover
Answer: I do not know what a "go box" is.
Question: When you disconnect the plugs, isn't it easy to short them by touching each other? looks like the whole piece is the same conductor
Answer: If I understand your question correctly, once the plugs are disconnected from the receiver, there is no signal going through them, therefore no danger of short. You shouldn't be connecting or disconnecting the speakers with the unit on. Actually more likely to short out trying to install using bare wire connections instead of banana clips. The clips cover the bare wire so no chance of a stray strand or two shorting across the back of your component.
Question: I have used open screw plugs for years; are there any substantial advantages to the closed screw type
Answer: The big advantage is when installed correctly, you won't have any chance of stray wires sticking out. So then less chance of shorting the wires. On 14 gauge and smaller wire, it shouldn't be that hard to do to install correctly, easily. On 12 gauge wire, the maximum recommended for the monoprice plugs, the insulation doesn't fit very well into the body of the plug, so you just have to strip more insulation off to get it to go easier. One possible downside to them is that the wires stick straight out the back instead of coming out of the side. If you have wall mount speakers with a narrow clearance, that could be an issue. But you could get the open screw style to fix that. At the receiver, it was beneficial to me.
Question: How do you connect these (closed and open type) to the speaker wire
Answer: First I unscrew the banana connector, splice the wire and stick the open wire through the hole and fold it over the threading, then I screw the banana connector back together. I use two pairs of vise grips as it gets a little tough screwing them back together by hand since the wire catches the threads on the banana connectors. Hope this helped

Product description

Meet the newest, most revolutionary banana plugs the world has seen: the Sewell Bullet! The Bullet uses patent-pending V-Lock Technology that gives you the fastest and most secure connection possible. When it comes to cable termination, sound quality is most affected by surface area contact. You want to get all strands of the speaker wire to connect with your equipment. V-Lock Technology incorporates a cone inside the banana plug that spreads the wires out as you push the cable in. This gives you maximum surface are contact without any extra effort. Not only does V-Lock Technology give you a more secure, higher quality connection, it also makes it extremely quick and easy to install your banana plugs. Each plug can be installed in a matter of seconds. Not only does V-Lock Technology give you a more secure, higher quality connection, it also makes it extremely quick and easy to install your banana plugs. Each plug can be installed in a matter of seconds. The final aspect we wanted to address with the Bullet is size. Many banana plugs are about 2 inches long. The Bullet is less than 1.5 inches long, and less than half of that length will actually be extending out of your equipment once the Bullet is plugged in. That makes the Bullet the smallest premium banana plug out there, giving you the cleanest looking termination possible and allowing you to put your equipment as close to the wall as you need to.

  • Patent-Pending V-Lock Technology for High Quality and a secure connection

User questions & answers

Question: Can these be used with flat speaker cable with braided strands 4mm wide
Answer: At the Sewell site the THREE FOOT cables are are a 2-pack for $20.95. The Amazon price would seem to indicate the 3 foot would be a two pack also. Unfortunately the Amazon description doesn't say that specifically. You may get two but who knows. Best to buy from Sewell Direct as you know what you're getting.
Question: can these support 12-gauge speaker wire
Answer: He's asking if it's OK to run 120 volts from his wall plate to his receiver and if it's not UL approved I wouldn't use it!
Question: How do these attach to the receiver? Do they simply go through the hole the bare wire would normally go through and you tighten the thumb screw
Answer: It is a 6 ft cable with a pair of connectors at each end to connect to the 5 way binding posts on the speaker and on the amp. This cable will connect one speaker to an amp or receiver
Question: Can these banana plugs fit for yamaha rx-a1050 receiver? thank you for your answer
Answer: That is very similar to what I did. Since I needed 6 pairs of cables, I ordered three that were twice as long and cut them in half and used the bare ends after stripping to go to connections on my receiver. The banana plugs on the other end went to the plate on the wall that was the connection to the built-in wall/ceiling speakers. Good Luck.
