Question:	im trying to make my own test leads for different applications, will these work/fit with a voltmeter
Answer:	Depends. It should fit as the multimeters use standard banana plug socket innerds, but for years commercial test leads have no longer used bare plugs because of the hazards associated with accidental contact which would be shockingly dangerous if working with high voltage (yes, these meters are routinely used in high voltage electrical applications - my meter carries a CAT III rating for use with 1000V, CAT IV for 600 V). BUT, I mainly use my meter on ham radio stuff and sometimes on cars - all low voltage DC applications.I just ordered these to make a current (amperage) test rig with Anderson Power Pole sockets. Again, I stress that I am working with voltage running significantly less than 30V (sometimes 24 V systems in aviation or other automotive systems), but I will wrap the plug bodies in heat shrink insulation to minimize likelihood of contact.

Answer:	I use 12 gauge on my fronts and 14 on my surrounds with no issues. The 12 gauge was a little difficult to get wrapped back around and then screw down, but I really don't know of any banana plug that would we easier, without going to the kind where they use a screw to fasten. This is the easier, cleaner look in my opinion!

Answer:	As PCKIDZ replied, this is a two function connector.The banana plugs are pushed into the hole in the end.If you unscrew the barrel which is knurled, the smaller shaft is exposed, where you can slip on your spade lug and then tighten the knurled shaft to secure the lug.

Answer:	"Open Screw" type plug (side wire) allows for daisy chaining or stacking additional banana plugs to the back. This is desirable in DJ applications if you're running a speakers in parallel and if your amp can handle the low impedances. Closed Screw type has the wire at the back.

Answer:	When new, the plugs are somewhat of a tight fit. Hold the AVR and push firmly. They will fit.

Answer:	I tried it on a flip style and they were too big. The measurement of the plug is 0.15" or 3.85mm at the tip, at the widest 0.20" or 5.3mm. Your flip connectors may be larger than my example, a quick msr of the max gauge wire you can use will answer.

Answer:	I have a High-End Denon and these plugs work just fine. They have a nice heft to them. You'll see. I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved them. A special note: I dont know what gauge wire you are planning on using. I bought 8 awg wire and it barely fits in these plugs. 12 awg or smaller will give you ZERO problems. Don't sweat the petty reviews. I assure you these bad boys are WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

The flyer that comes in the box doesn't state the make up of the base material, however I can say it is very heavy for it's size and if I had to guess I'd say it is brass. For that type of connector I would consider coating the ends of the speaker wire with a thin layer of solder once the ends are in good shape so they will be easier to connect and disconnect.

Answer:	You can't replace RCA plugs with banana plugs. Two different animals. RCA carries the signal in the center plug and ground on the outer portion. Banana plugs are just one connection, not two.

Again they fit pretty snug into the banana plug receptacles on the amp and they are far enough apart I'm not worried about them getting shorted. Unless your dropping metal on them or something like that they should be fine.

Answer:	I do not know what a "go box" is.
Question:	When you disconnect the plugs, isn't it easy to short them by touching each other? looks like the whole piece is the same conductor
Answer:	If I understand your question correctly, once the plugs are disconnected from the receiver,there is no signal going through them, therefore no danger of short. You shouldn't be connecting or disconnecting the speakers with the unit on. Actually more likely to short out trying to install using bare wire connections instead of banana clips. The clips cover the bare wire so no chance of a stray strand or two shorting across the back of your component.
Question:	I have used open screw plugs for years; are there any substantial advantages to the closed screw type
Answer:	The big advantage is when installed correctly, you won't have any chance of stray wires sticking out. So then less chance of shorting the wires. On 14 gauge and smaller wire, it shouldn't be that hard to do to install correctly, easily. On 12 gauge wire, the maximum recommended for the monoprice plugs, the insulation doesn't fit very well into the body of the plug, so you just have to strip more insulation off to get it to go easier.One possible downside to them is that the wires stick straight out the back instead of coming out of the side. If you have wall mount speakers with a narrow clearance, that could be an issue. But you could get the open screw style to fix that. At the receiver, it was beneficial to me.
Question:	How do you connect these (closed and open type) to the speaker wire
Answer:	First I unscrew the banana connector, splice the wire and stick the open wire through the hole and fold it over the threading, then I screw the banana connector back together. I use two pairs of vise grips as it gets a little tough screwing them back together by hand since the wire catches the threads on the banana connectors. Hope this helped

Answer:	12 awg is as big as you want to go in these depending on the size of the jacket on the wire. I had to use a bit of flux on some of them to get the jacket to slide in to the end. I have also used 18 awg with these and find that its a bit small of wire for these to work but they did work. I would say 16 is as small as I would run these with.

Question:	will these work with onkyo receiver and klipsch speakers
Answer:	It depends on the speaker. My RB-61s have capped binding posts, so I used the mediabridge spade connectors. My Onkyo TX-8270 has banana plug posts, though. I think they all do.

Answer:	I do not know the actual length of the shank however they do fit in standard banana jacks. If your banana plugs are too shallow then they are not true or standard banana jacks but maybe something less or older equipment. these do fit standard plug of 5 way binding posts.
Question:	Will these speakers work with a pyle pttcsm70bt bluetooth stereo system? the speakers are connected to the console by rca plugs
Answer:	No. These are for what is refered to as a component type recievers and amps with screw type terminals. They only connect one wire per spe2. RCA plugs are both connections at one plug. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Hi, these are "standard of the industry" banana plugs - diameter of the male end is 4 mm - it is standard. For some computer and laboratory applications, you may have 2 mm (very small), for audio/DJ/PA - if it is a "Banana Plug", it is 4 mm (millimeter). Question:	The jacket of this plug is condusive, so if they touch, my system is prone to shock. Would heat shrink around the jacket help add protection
Answer:	Heat shrink wouldn't be necessary. These are meant to plug into the red and black posts in the back of your receiver and speakers. There wouldn't be any electrical shock, but would get feedback or potentially damage your speakers if touching other wired speaker connections.
Question:	How do you unscrew these? I'm about to throw them all away
Answer:	They unscrew opposite the direction you'd expect. Looking down at the metal tip, turn the metal clockwise or the turn the shell counter-clockwise.

Answer:	yes. I used them with Monster cable heavy speaker wire, plenty of room to make connection. They are excellent quality.
Question:	do they fit in spring clip
Answer:	I have one older set of speakers that I used these with and the do fit--just. Pretty tight and not sure best use as if the spring clip breaks or no longer has enough tension will not work later w bare wire. If you want to use connectors rather than bare wire get "pin" style connectors instead.
