Answer:	I had 2 neptunes and they both broke in about 1 year. I liked the design of the neptune much better but hope this new design lasts at least a couple of years (I have a blue/white generation 1 swimp3 that still works).

Answer:	My songs play in the order in which they were loaded....alphabetical. I know my playlist ahead of time so I can keep track of my time without having to count laps. I'm always afraid that I'll do something to put it in random mode, but so far, so good. I think that you can probably look it up online.

Answer:	Well, the assumptions in this question make it hard to answer, but I'll try. Lots of people have used iPod Shuffles with waterproof earbuds. The sound quality depends a lot on the earbuds used. As an integrated bone conducting headphone and mp3 player, the Duo is quite different, an it's hard to compare without knowing what earbuds you're thinking of. That said, I am very impressed with the Duo sound quality and volume. I can hear music and podcasts clearly. I've tried a few styles of waterproof earbuds, and they won't stay in place for me, generally have more muddled sound, and I have to regularly futz with them to research them or clear some water from behind them. I have had better workouts with great sound and less interruptions using the Duo than with anything plugged into earbuds. For me, the Duo definitely compete!

Answer:	The short answer is this one is the latest version. Saying that I prefer the previous version (LED screen which allowed with to look at song titles/order, better volume control, smaller speakers attached to your goggles etc...) design much better. Saying that, I had 2 of them and both only lasted about 1 year. Hopefully, this design will be better.

Answer:	It has Bluetooth, and once music is playing, you can hit the Menu button to turn on shuffle. So I do not see any issues with shuffling over bluetooth.

Answer:	Yes, you can do it. I just did and I'm not that smart when it comes to computers. So first, download an "mp4 to mp3 converter, free for windows" or go to downloads.cnet.com for a free one that has been verified. I got the one called; Free M4a to MP3 Converter. Next, open iTunes music and highlight all of your music and right click, then click on download. Pay attention where it downloads it to. Mine downloaded it to my music files in my computer (DUHH) and it took me a minute to find them. Then go back into the MP4 to MP3 Converter program and select "ADD FILES" on the top LEFT corner and go find the folder or you can drag the music files into the screen. Next, at the bottom, select "SPECIFY FOLDER." I created one on my desktop to make it easier to find. Make sure the "OUTPUT FORMAT" located on the RIGHT bottom of the screen says "MP3." Now go to the top and click "CONVERT." It will take a couple of minutes but once its done, all your iTunes music will now be converted to MP3 format. To know for sure, RIGHT click on one of your songs and LEFT click on PROPERTIES. The file type or type of file should now say; MP3 file. Enjoy! Oh and screw APPLE...they suck! LOL They tried to get me to buy a new iPod and a new Apple laptop because my 2009 iPod is no longer supported by their software. :\

Answer:	It is 4G. I agree it is hard to use. No shuffle and the cord is so short on the headphones that you have to take it off to see the display.
Question:	How does the swim lap counter work - does it require a button push each lap, or the unit somehow senses the laps through gps or some other function
Answer:	I just put my oldies on it and swim for an hour. It does not have a counter for the number of laps. It is waterproof and inexpensive and I really have used it everytime I swim. 3 times a week. Also the battery lasts for a long time, between recharge.

Answer:	Yes - I wear mine with my sunglasses all the time. I can tell you that if you are swimming full laps in an Olympic size pool, the Bluetooth connection gets "fuzzy" about 2 feet at the end of each lap - with my iphone by the edge of the middle of the pool.
