Question:	Can this be top-mounted? I cannot access the bolts from the bottom on my enclosed Am Stan toilet
Answer:	I think it's stainless steel, may be aluminum. In any case no signs of rust anywhere. I have had it for a few years and I have had no problems with it.
Question:	What's the difference between a regular and a premium hinge? Do both remove easily for cleaning
Answer:	Not that I'm aware of - I actually seem to have more pressure than with my previous showerhead only...
Question:	how thick is the toilet seat? What is the size of the seat hole width and length? Do you see screws when the seat is up
Answer:	There is no need for a diverter anymore. I had a plumber cut that out and install a shut-off for each supply pipe. Then all you need to do is hook up the supply hoses that are part of the panel. (The installation guide called for two pipes to penetrate the wall for the hook-up which I didn't do. Cut out a bigger square hole for easy access since I don't have the option of a behind-the-wall access panel.)
Question:	Is the toilet seat cover strong enough to support sitting without the lid getting compromised
Answer:	It is possible to get them to work at the same time but only by very careful adjustment with the selection valve, the water flow from each will be low. I don't think it was designed to work that way.

Question:	is this a slow close cover
Answer:	I bought my new gasket by searching on Amazon. I also get my citric acid to clean the boiler from Amazon.
Question:	Regarding the round model: Is this heavy duty enough to be sat on while closed, or does it bow in? Slow close work well
Answer:	I don’t know for sure... I allowed the water to come to a boil before putting the lid on. So all the elements under the boiling point of water would escape in the air. Then I tried to stop the distiller while there was still some water left to avoid overheating and evaporating elements with a slightly higher boiling point. I was able to achieve 2-3 ppm without the additional filter. That worked for me. Check out the boiling point of fluoride. And go from there.
Question:	What is the length in inches from the center of the bolts to the end of the seat
Answer:	No. I had to contact them about a broken glass carafe and they would not provide replacement. Very hard to get in touch with also.
Question:	Will this seat accomadate a 310 lb person
Answer:	It's super easy to use. Just remove top (It's held in place through suction). Fill to the mark with water. Center the top, glide into place. Plug in the cords, and press on. The gaskets have a strong silicone smell. I recommend removing and thoroughly the cleaning the gaskets before first use.

Question:	Is this a round seat as advertised? In the product specifications, it lists 19" as a dimension, which is not the length of a standard round seat
Answer:	I couldn't get the smell out of it either after cleaning it 6 times. The water coming out of it tasted disgusting. I returned it for a full refund.

Answer:	Some of the chlorine when heated as it is in this process becomes a gas which is lighter than air. It is then vented out during the process. Most of the remaining chlorine will be filtered out by the charcoal filer. The charcoal filter needs to be in place and changed often depending on the amount of chlorine and other contaminants are in the water. Frequency of filter change also depends on how many cycles per week the machine is used. The end result is often as high as 90+ % chlorine removal. I hope this helps.
Question:	Are the bolts included
Answer:	I believe the metal coil is made of aluminum, which makes the water unsafe to drink! (Look up how aluminum oxidizes and leaches aluminum into water)
Question:	My room mate weighs in at around 275 and the plastic bars on the underside of previous seats keeps getting demolished. Will this unit handle this
Answer:	We recently received this distiller and love it! It takes about 4 hours to distill a gallon of water......we bought a cheap timer that it plugs into, to shut it off before it runs dry, so easier to clean. Use white vinegar to quickly clean after each use (takes about a minute).

Answer:	We have the round model, liked it so much after a year we ended up buying 'em for the whole house. As for your question, the lid itself is not terribly strong/heavy, although not a cheap weight either. My kids and I can sit on it with no issues, but now that you've asked the question I do feel a little bowing from the lid and I'm fairly small. That being said, the lower seat portion is very strong and the slow close (for seat and lid) have been terrific. My kids can't slam the lid if their lives depended on it =)

Answer:	I measured mine and the length of the seat (front to back) measures 15 3/4 inches. I have a round "American Standard" white bowel and this fits perfect. I hope this helps you...:)
Question:	How thick is this seat
Answer:	The measurement where the hinges go, my old wooden one measures a tiny bit more than 5 1/2, from center to center. This is with the hinges on, it's slightly almost 2mm longer looks like, but I am not sure when i take it out.Any suggestions of this will fit? This toilet is very old, called "Standard" Ejecto.

Answer:	This seat is pretty solid, much more so than the one I had previously. I'm 250 pounds and there are no problems with the three seats I have in my home. The plastic is quite a bit thicker all around and the hinges more sturdy than my previous seats. It's just better made. I'd say its a pretty good bet that you will not have problems with this seat.

Answer:	You may have the wrong hardware kit for your toilet seat. I did. I had to buy a replacement seat because I could not find the right set of bolts on Amazon

Answer:	You can't remove the bolt from the cap. They are glued together. The cap and bolt go through the seat hole on the back of the seat lid at the hinge and attaches with a washer underneath.

Question:	Is this soft close
Answer:	This is a difficult question to answer because of the interpretation of the question. With the seat and the cover closed the unit is just about 2 inches thick - that is to say the top of the cover is about 2 inches off of the porcelain of the toilet. However, if you do not include the cover the seat measures about 1 & 1/2 inches off of the toilet porcelain. Then of course please consider that the actual seat has protective bumpers on the bottom to cushion the seat from the toilet porcelain. Those bumpers are about a 1/4 of an inch think. Hope this helps.

Question:	Can I just get the hardware and non t the seat somewhere ? I have this exact toilet seat and they are fine but the hardware is seized up
Answer:	No. The company only sells complete units and not parts. Use caution when cleaning around the hinges. Do not spray with cleaning fluid. Apply cleaner to a paper towel and wipe the hinge, or the hinge will corrode from being sprayed with cleaner even though you wipe the surface of the hinge dry.

Question:	How heavy or substantial is this toilet seat? I'm looking for one that is sturdy, durable, and can support weight, look nice & easy to clean
Answer:	This is a heavy material about 1/2 inch thick. It has an eggshell texture, not the smoothness of a piece of plastic. It is very sturdy and after 4 years, the rubber bumpers under the seat have yet to show signs of wear. After looking at my local hardware stores and building supply stores at as many as available, this seemed to be the best. Should either of the two I have need replacement, I would definitely buy these again.
Question:	Are the hinges made from metal:if so what kind, or a plastic type of material painted to look like chrome
Answer:	We have two of these and the hinges are made of metal. I don't know what type of metal, but we have a family member that weights close to 350 pounds and neither of these have broken or come loose. She uses both on a daily basis. I'm not sure what type of metal these are made of, but it must be pretty strong as we have had these for a year or more now. The two bolts that hold this to the toilet bowl are made of some sort of hard plastic. They screw in and hold a metal piece that you have to line up when you tighten this down. The fact that these are so easily removed is great for cleaning. The first one I purchased was from Amazon and it is not the slow closing type. I'm pretty sure the metal is the same, just a different model. The second one I got at "the Blue and White" hardware store and it is a little different than the Amazon one. Basically the same, it just was harder to install for some reason. The main reason was that it had the wrong hardware. These also say to clean them with soap and water, but we have a housekeeper and she wipes them down with those Clorox wipes, then with a clean damp rag. Hasn't seemed to harm the color or finish in anyway. I've read a few reviews that people have had the seat spit as a result of them slamming shut. But since this is a slow close model, it should not be an issue. We replaced two of our toilets with the TOTO "Drake" model toilets and I have to say I hate them. The tank lid dosent even seem to fit them correctly and I wish we had gone with our gut feeling and bought the Kohler model we originally planned to purchase. The tank lid just sits on th top and doesn't overlap the tank or have any type of system to keep the lids from moving back. It looks like the design is suppose to create a smooth look to the tank. It's a pain to keep these from moving. It's almost like the lids are not made for the toilet, but it was a boxed deal, so I am assuming that this is how these are designed. It also isn't completely fired on the lower edge which shows when the lid has shifted. I'm constantly having to move the lids back into place. I'm considering caulking these down to keep them in place and eliminating me from constantly having to fix the tank lids. These where bought at a well known plumbing company with a showroom and the only reason we decided to buy them in the first place was that we have a friend who knows the owner. I can see that these will be replaced in the near future with the Kohler model we initially considered buying.The TOTO model came with a slow close seat and it's very uncomfortable. It's made of plastic completely and they scratch very easily. After about three months time, they started having side to side movement. This was due to the poor seat design, not the lack of tightness to the bowl. If you are using this on a TOTO model, it will hang over the front edge just a little. This is only noticeable if you are looking at the seat from the floor level, which no one should be doing anyway. If I had to replace one of these seats for any reason, I would not hesitate to buy this one again. However, I would without a doubt buy the Kohler toilet instead.Hope this has helped you and not overwhelmed you with information. But the hinges are metal.

Answer:	No, it is not white. "Biscuit" is a pale ivory color, but closer to white than to the old ceramic color of "bone". I put in biscuit-colored sinks, toilet, and tub in the master bath and it is lovely. I was able to find an example of the color in my local plumbing store. You might try looking there. (you will also need biscuit-colored chalk if you decide on this color.)
