10 best antenna mount for cb
A CB (Citizens Band) antenna mount is an essential component for installing a CB radio antenna on a vehicle or a fixed location. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the CB radio system. Here are some key points about CB antenna mounts:
Mount Types: There are various types of CB antenna mounts available to suit different installation requirements:
Magnetic Mount: This type of mount consists of a magnetic base that adheres to the vehicle's metal surface. It is popular for temporary or portable installations.
Mirror Mount: Mirror mounts are designed to attach to a vehicle's side mirror bracket. They are a common choice for trucks and larger vehicles.
Bumper Mount: These mounts are attached to the vehicle's bumper, providing a secure and sturdy installation point.
Trunk Lip Mount: Trunk lip mounts are designed to be clamped onto the edge of a vehicle's trunk or a similar surface.
Materials: CB antenna mounts are typically made of durable materials like stainless steel, aluminum, or heavy-duty plastic to withstand various weather conditions and provide long-lasting performance.
Coaxial Cable: Most CB antenna mounts include a coaxial cable connector that allows you to connect the antenna to your CB radio. The quality and length of the coaxial cable can affect the performance of your CB radio system.
Grounding: Proper grounding is essential for CB antennas to work efficiently. Many CB antenna mounts include a grounding connection point to ensure a good electrical ground for the antenna.
Adjustability: Some mounts offer adjustable features, such as tilting or swiveling, to help fine-tune the antenna's position for optimal signal reception.
Permanent vs. Temporary Installation: Depending on your needs, you can choose between permanent or temporary CB antenna mounts. Permanent mounts are usually bolted or screwed onto the vehicle, while temporary mounts can be easily removed and repositioned.
Legal Considerations: When installing a CB antenna, it's important to ensure that you comply with local regulations regarding antenna height and placement, especially for mobile installations.
Antenna Compatibility: Make sure that the CB antenna you choose is compatible with the type of mount you plan to use. Different antennas may require specific mounting hardware.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance of the antenna mount, including checking connections and ensuring it remains securely attached to the vehicle, is important to maintain good signal reception.
In summary, a CB antenna mount is a crucial accessory for CB radio enthusiasts, as it provides a secure and effective way to install and position the antenna for optimal communication. Choosing the right mount type and ensuring proper installation can significantly impact the performance of your CB radio system.

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this mount to a spare tire rack on a ford bronco |
Answer: | It should. A lot of room for adjustment with the long bolts. Give it a go. |
Question: | I'm using this with 64" whip and have some higher swr readings tried to ground it and just got worse. Any suggestions |
Answer: | The SWR IS AFFECTED BY THE WHIP LENGTH, AND THE GROUND. THE ANTENNA MUST BE RESONATE THE THE FREQUENCY YOU ARE USEING. CHANGING THE WHIP LENGTH WILL CHAGE THE SWR (STANDING WAVE RACHIO). THE TYPE OF COAX IS ALSO IMPORTANT. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING A COAX OR (FEED LINE) THAT IS WHITHIN THE RANG OF OHMS REQUIRED. MOST RADIOS REQUIRE A 50 Ohm COAX. SO IN THEORY A 50 Ohm COAX AND AN ATTENA SET AT 50 Ohms WILL GIVE YOU A 1-1 SWR. WITH LOW POWER YOU CSN GET BUY WITH A 1.5-1 SWR. I HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL. |

Question: | Does this work with aftermarket tire carrier |
Answer: | It basically replaces the bolts of the factory hinge with longer ones, but wouldn't be able to confirm if they're long enough for the aftermarket tire carrier/hinges |
Question: | Will the holes on this mount also fit an antenna that uses either a nmo or a so259 (uhf) connector? i am not familiar with cb antennas. thank you |
Answer: | I believe the antenna mount hole is standard 5/8 inch. I went to Right Channel Radios and bought a heavy duty right angle mount (16.00) that accepts the Firestix antenna and a so259 standard cb antenna cable. I used this because standard cb type stud mount was wobbly on the bracket. A nmo style cable would provide more stability also but you have to drill out (enlarge) the 5/8 hole. As a side note you need to grind off the paint around the mount hole and provide a ground wire from the mount bracket mounting stud through the tailgate to the body or the SWR will be to high (cb will have poor signal strength and have static ). I like the bracket and the suggested mount,no rust or corrosion after a year. Go to you tube and watch videos of installation. |
Question: | Where I can get the flag pole that fit this bracket |

User questions & answers
Question: | has anyone tried this with a HAM radio |
Answer: | Depending on what ham antenna you intend to use, you would have to modify the mount to fit a NMO mount or UHF mount, get an adaptor 3/8” -> NMO or UHF, or use a 3/8” mount style dual band antenna. Also, that Multiplexer will be useless for a CB radio since it won’t allow you to xmit on 2m or 70cm. There are better ways to install a ham radio antenna than this product. |
Question: | Will this work for a jeep yj |
Answer: | No you would have to drill holes for the antenna mount. The YJ antenna is different |
Question: | Will this fit a JT |
Answer: | Yes it will |
Question: | Is this compatible with the new JL’s |
Answer: | Yes! I mounted it in my 2018 JLUR. I had it in my JK, but before I sold the JK I took it out so I could put it in my new JL. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long is the coax |
Answer: | 16-18’ |
Question: | Can you use this with gmrs systems |
Answer: | For gmrs you're going to want a genuine Nagoya UT-72. Btech has the genuine article. I swept it with a VNA and it has very low SWR through the GMRS band. I also have a Nagoya mag mount with the SMA connector - the UT-308UV and it's not as broad on UHF. Good for the 70cm ham band, but it's SWR doesn't stretch into GMRS range as well. |
Question: | can this be used on a DX2547 base radio |
Answer: | Your gonna find its a damn great antenna but most base stations have a taller antenna but paired with my Stryker 497 getting 17 miles roughly |
Question: | How would this work on a cobra |
Answer: | I run a Cobra 29 LX w/ an Astatic RD104 mic and this Stryker antenna. SWR’s are near flat across all 40, TX & RX are amazing. I definitely recommend this antenna. |
