Answer:	no, you do not have to peel it. pretty sure there is an instructional youtube video out there. but it needs to be ripe to easily pierce the mango.

I did go a size larger (I'm a size 10 but went to 11) to make sure about the width. I might have been okay with size 10, but they are maybe a bit tight over my instep. I haven't really needed them since I got them (of course), but I'm pretty sure they'll still be comfortable if I wear them with a couple pairs of socks.

Answer:	Not felt per se but there is a lining of sorts - seems to be more like the rubber was coated with a soft material. It's definitely soft to the touch but dries quickly if the insides get wet.
