Question: | My family has two appartments next to each other, both separate electrical installations. Would this work if we wanted to split the internet bill |
Answer: | Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID. |
Question: | Has anyone connected a ps4 of xbox one to the wifi from the range extender? if so, signal and game play any good |
Answer: | If you mean an AT&T router signal, yes. If you mean cell tower signal, then no. |
Question: | Does it create a new sid or does it exteneded your current sid, so one does not have to switch to differing networks when in range |
Answer: | the input voltage is from 100 to 240 volts |
Question: | I don't understand how some people give this 4-5 stars and others can't get it to work and give it 1 star |
Answer: | there are 4 ports. I use multiple ones as this is the only system I can find that does not change the network name but once a year I also have one break and have to replace it or hard reset it myself. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is this compatable with belkin routers |
Answer: | Yes. |
Question: | Doe it work with Century link |
Answer: | This modem is for use with Cable Internet, not DSL. If CenturyLink offers cable internet in your area, it should work. I know this modem works with Suddenlink cable. |
Question: | Will this modem work with Time Warner triple play internet and their telephone service |
Answer: | In my area, currently, if you have Time Warner 'triple play' (TV, Internet, phone) and you have your own supported modem, TW provides the same modem they would for triple play and uses that for phone service only - at no monthly equipment charge - and disables their modems Internet connection/ wifi. So you do need that TW modem in addition to this unit and a cable box for TW triple play, but your only equipment fee if you have your own modem is for the cable box / DVR. I am using this modem and a TW modem with a high bandwidth splitter and good, short coax patch cables (or you can use different cable wall outlets for phone and Internet if you prefer) with TW triple play, and am not charged any monthly rental fee for Internet or phone hardware. Contact your TW representative and confirm their policy for your area (may take more than one call to get a representative who can give you the official answer). |
Question: | Will this modem work with at&t uverse ??? if not which modem will |
Answer: | No it definitely will not. AT&T Uverse uses modems that have an RJ-11 connector in the back (phone cord plug). This is COAX, and is only used for Cable Internet providers. What you need to look for is a 2Wire or other common Uverse modems. Hope this helps. If you call AT&T they can also give you a list of compatible modems for the services offered in your area. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the max transfer rate between the points if to each point there is a cat6 cable connected to a computer |
Answer: | I love this band. When I initially bought the watch I also bought a sports band to go with it because I wasn’t sure I’d like this band but it is so easy to get on and adjust I’ve never switched the bands. I highly recommend! |
Question: | Can someone done this, provide upgrade instructions - going from original eero 3-pk system to eero pro 6 3pk system, keeping ssid & pw same? thanks |
Answer: | The "band box" comes with a half band with the buckle, and two half bands with holes. You pick the longer or shorter of the half band with holes to fit, |
Question: | So i would have to get all 3 units hard wired for the best results? Can additional units be purchased? I have 3 floors i need to cover |
Answer: | None. It’s the SE. So basically it has the same power had the Series 6. Without some key feature like ECG and Blood Oxygen sensor. Also doesn’t have Always On Retnia. Small things. Not a dealbreaker honestly. |
Question: | Does eero pro 6 systm auto recognize devices that can operate at 2.4g band only communicate with those at lower band while using 5g 4 others? thx |
Answer: | it uses your existing iPhone cell number. The watch uses no sim card |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have att U-verse internet will this device work with their router and system |
Answer: | You can plug it in downstream of your existing router. I believe it will even work if substituted for your existing router as long as you have a modem. You may need to call ATT at time of setup to provision but I doubt it. We were up on it in 5 minutes. |
Question: | The eero6 router alone says that offers up to 900mbps, this three pack with the router and two extenders says up to 500mbps. Can you clarify |
Answer: | From AndroidCentral: “While a single Eero 6 router supports a gigabit connection on its own, if you add in more nodes, you'll be sharing your 5GHz band splitting your 1200Mbps speed. This allows for speeds up to 500Mbps with a little headroom“ |
Question: | do I need a smartphone to download the app or can I download to my computer to get started |
Answer: | There is no web interface. You must use the Eero app on phone or tablet, but it does NOT need an active celluar plan (works fine on my iPad with no cellualar, just WiFi). |
Question: | Is there a wifi performance difference between the router and extender |
Answer: | Yes, seems to be. I get 325mbps with the router and 150 mbps with the extenders. I pay for 300 mbps. Now this is with the extenders going through several walls and downstairs in my basement. I get the same.speeds from both extenders which is nice |

Question: | I have a relatively new hp printer that i cannot connect as it uses wps. is there a way around this? if not, i will have to return. unhappy with this |
Answer: | Hi Jason,Thanks for reaching out and for your question! If you'd like to use an Airport device on an eero network, you will need to bridge the Airports. eero's cannot mesh with other routing devices. For more information, we recommend viewing this help center article: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/208315013-Connecting-AirPort-Extreme-Time-Capsule-or-Airport-Express-to-your-eero-networkI hope this helps! Question: | Hi, i have an integrated modem and router from comcast xfinity. how would eero replace the router |
Answer: | Hi Jeff! Thanks for your question. With eero, you can definitely use Ethernet to connect each eero. This will eliminate any potential interference, and let you get the most of your speeds from each eero throughout your home. eeros also work in a mixed wired/wireless network, so you can even mix-and-match your eero connection types. It should be noted that eero Beacons do not have Ethernet ports, so for a completely wired set up, you will only be able to use eeros.I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-877-659-2347 or email us at [email protected],Jeff, eero support |
Question: | Is this the same as a netgear wifi extender |
Answer: | Hi Macjune,Thanks for reaching out and for your question about eero.If I understand your question correctly, you are wondering if you can use eero with another router? The answer is yes and also no.If you'd like to use another router in front of your eero, you can do so. You would have two options here—running two networks or running your eero in bridge mode. With the latter, you would lose many of eeros advanced features, and all the networking settings will be handled by the upstream router. You would still get the benefits of eeros mesh.If you are asking if you can start with an eero and then add another router to expand the mesh, this isn't possible. eero's can only work with other eero and eero Beacons.I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-877-659-2347 or email us at [email protected],Jeff, eero support |
Question: | Do the bacons plug into an electric outlet |
Answer: | Hi Dan!Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in eero. In a 2700 square foot home, you would likely be just fine with an eero and eero Beacon. With that said, it really depends on your home, the materials used, and the overall layout.Getting started with an eero and eero Beacon is a good start, and you can of course always add additional eeros where needed.I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-877-659-2347 or email us at [email protected],Jeff, eero support |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use this to add to my existing Eero pro setup (router and 1 beacon) provided by my cable company |
Answer: | I don't know if the cable company makes any modifications to it, but if not there should not be any issues. I added it easily to my pro setup which was originally a router an 2 beacons, now three. |
Question: | I have a booster now, but I have to create a different network name. Will this extender simply extend the existing network - no need to switch uo |
Answer: | Eero is a mesh network. There are no “boosters” or range extenders as you need on a conventional WIFI network. Instead the various errors nodes all add to the network.. same SSID... same speed...same everything. You have to have an Eero or Eero pro routers , you can’t plug in a “beacon” on a non-Eero network. |
Question: | Will this work with generation 1 networks |
Answer: | Yes - however performance (range, throughput) will be lower than when paired with a Gen II router. |
Question: | Why is the beacon twice the price of the router |
Answer: | I just got off phone w Eero. The beacon costs more because it is smaller and has 3 channels. It is super easy to just plug in. The other one is 2nd gen and can be used as router or extender but has only 2 channels and needs to be placed on a table or surface. So if you have many users at same time, may be better to get beacon as you may need 3 channels for data flow, but if you just need it spread wifi over larger area, then save money and get the other one. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this hookup to Existing router |
Answer: | Yes, if you want it to. Just connect it via ethernet cable to your router and put the eero in bridge mode. Otherwise, it's designed to replace your existing router. Additional instructions are here: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/208276903-How-do-I-bridge-my-eeros- |
Question: | Do you need more than this one |
Answer: | It depends on the area you need to cover. I have three in my home and this works great. I just added internet to my cottage an hour away. I put one unit there. It is more than adequate. Also it was really easy to add another network. I was done before the installer was out the driveway. |
Question: | Anyone running 1Gbps service through the mesh router |
Answer: | I run gigabit... at the router I normally get 850-970 MPs... device side I get 150-180mps... I have tested 3 devices simultaneously and got those speeds |
Question: | Support for wifi |
Answer: | Not yet but its a non issue for most users right now who don't have any devices that support wifi 6. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My apt had 8 units but we are all running on the same cable line. Will this help just my connection |
Answer: | No, routers are separate from the cable signal. Your apartment might need a unity gain amplifier where they all split from. Otherwise get your apartment to get your cable provider to wire it correctly. |
Question: | Which generation eero is being sold here? 1st or 2nd |
Answer: | The listing description doesn't specify which gen it is but this is suppose to be a 2nd gen. You can tell by looking at the second photo, which shows the power port is a USB-C type (2nd gen). We also offer/sell 2nd gen eero. |
Question: | my house is small. I would like a eero as my wireless router. CAn i buy only 1 and it be my wireless router so that i have wifi in my house |
Answer: | The biggest advantage is that this device has 3 wifi frequencies on it. 2.4, 5.2, and 5.8 gig. This means more paths to your devices and more speed. I just installed a single unit in my home to replace 2 Apple Airport Wi Fi units. My speed on my laptop has doubled. As your network grows and you add more devices overtime, this three path method of communications will provide a lot of growth and ability to support newer devices. |
Question: | Does this work with the Xfinity Router/Modem |
Answer: | There are two settings when setting up your eero system, bridge and NAT. If you choose to use Xfinity router to provide DHCP/NAT routing then you would set up your eeros as a bridge using the same WiFi name as the Xfinity router. This is the easiest for the layperson. Otherwise, I would recommend disabling the DHCP/NAT from the Xfinity Router and use the eero as your NAT router. I know that seems a little technical for most, but the user interface on the app has this terminology and is pretty easy to figure out. The hard part is diving into the Xfinity router... If you don't know what to do there, it would be easy to mess things up. Bottom line, if you have a ROUTER/MODEM combination from Xfinity... the easiest thing would be to set the eeros up as a bridge, with the same WiFi and password. |
