User questions & answers
Question: | Would they work for motorcycling |
Answer: | Do your research. From what I have read these boots do not come close to what a proper motorcycle boot should be, if you really want to be safe. |
Question: | how do they hold up with a ruck |
Answer: | They have, thus far, been outstanding while carrying a heavy pack. They break in fairly quickly (so don't buy too big a size, they will stretch a bit, especially if they get wet) and are very comfortable. As far as durability, I think they're solid. That having been said, you'll want to give yourself (if you haven't yet) plenty of time to get used to a flat/barefoot type shoe. If you aren't used to it, I wouldn't load a full-size ruck and try to knock out 5 miles. That will be very tough on your feet and lower legs. If you're already a minimalist shoe person, then they are excellent and are holding up well in everything Colorado has to offer. |

Answer: | Coyote the tan ones are alot lighter |
Question: | Does it fit well? i'm asking this because i'm an 11.5 regular and i bought thes other tactical research boots and they were to big. should i get 11s |
Answer: | I wear 11.5 in Salomon. Got a pair of these in 11 and they are half a size too small. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I saw somewhere that the heel to toe drop was only 2mm? Is this true? Is the toe box wider than normal to allow for toe splay? Or should i buy wide |
Answer: | Yes it is true, there is only a 2mm drop and the toe box is wider. These were true to size and are very comfortable once you get use to the drop from wearing regular shoes. I have loved my pair and have had them for about 6 months now. I wear them every day and I work as a Sheriffs Deputy. The only draw back is that with all the rain we have had lately my feet do get wet. They are not water proof or resistant, they are a jungle boot style boot, though they do dry fast. I just keep extra pair of socks with me when at work. They are very quite when walking, when clearing house's I have been able to walk through homes like a "ninja" as my son says. They are very light on your feet and yet very comfortable. You will feel each rock you step on due to the thin sole, but the lug system on the sole has been very good so far, unless you get into some really muddy stuff, which no shoe really holds up in. I would compare the toe box to the Birkenstock style toe box if you are familiar with there style shoe's. Would I recommend this boot, YES most definitely. If you have a problem with flat feet then no. The support is not there, but that is not what this shoe was made for. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Are these boots actually steel toed as the title says |
Answer: | Unless it is a new addition, it does not have a steel toe. The reinforced toe cap is very protective though. I have had a 120lb stretcher with a 300lb man on it roll over my toe with no problems. |
Question: | True to size |
Answer: | The size was maybe 1 or 2 sizes smaller and the shoes where not the same as an other shoe from Tactical Research that I allready have |
Question: | How well are these with oil/slip resistant? I work in a kitchen for work |
Answer: | Haven't bought these yet, but I had a pair of leather minimalist shoes from vivo barefoot that didn't even have much tread on the soles, and I wore them to smithareens for two years in the kitchen. I'm sure these will work great. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these Belleville TR960Z waterproof and cool in hot weather |
Answer: | They're pretty water resistant but I wouldn't say they're waterproof. If you completely submerge your foot you'll feel a little water. My feet typically stay cool in hot Houston weather. I don't get hot spots or anything. However, I replaced the insoles with Dr Scholes "Active" insoles. It's a must with these boots. Boots were not wearable with stock insoles in my opinion. I switched from underarmour boots which are by far the most comfortable bootsbut lack in durability. Overall, if you replace the insoles the boot is a well rounded good boot worthy of 4 stars. Hope this helps. |
Question: | hi, if my feet have 30cm, how its the size in US |
Answer: | The conversion chart shows 30.2 cm is a size 14 in US size. |
Question: | How do the boots run soze wise? bigger or smaller? normally a mens 11.5 us |
Answer: | they are one full size over size. If your normal size is 11.5 buy 10.5. I originally thought that one full size was over doing it, but it is true. I sent one pair back, because I ordered only a half size down. The boots are really nice, little heavy, but overall pretty comfy. I think the zipper for sure is the weak part of this boot. I am afraid I will break the zipper so I still unlace them each time and then zip them down. Same when I put them on I zip them up then lace them. Not really an issue, but most people like to unzip and zip with leaving the boot tied. |
Question: | What is the difference between this boot and "Belleville TR960zWP Tactical Research Khyber Black Waterproof Boot Zipper" other than price |
Answer: | The 960z does not have the waterproof membrane lining. It is a very cool comfortable boot. The 960zwp is the same boot but waterproof if you live in a warm climate it's not a great choice unless you absolutely have to have waterproof |

Answer: | Nope |

Answer: | According to the Belleville spec sheet for this boot, it doesn't specify that this boot is waterproof. |
Question: | Can you get them as a Composite or Steel Toe |
Answer: | If you're used to wearing Bellville, select the same size you normally wear. User questions & answers
Question: | My foot measures 28.5 cm. What size should I order |
Answer: | It does not. This is the Ultra-Lite model so it is built to be light. They do make other models with comp toe if needed. |
Question: | How flexible are the soles |
Answer: | Yeah that's to bad. Going to make it more difficult to creep in the kitchen and take grandma out to steal her cookies! Had SEVERAL PAIRS of these boots. Best side zip boots I've had. Every single pair have been "squeaky " until they are broke in. PS they will not scuff off the smooth "squeaky " surface on basket ball courts, bowling alley or grandma's kitchen floor. If you can, take em out on the "paint ball" yard (if your that daring) and results will satisfy. |
Question: | Are these the boots issued at army bct |
Answer: | Belleville is the largest supplier to the US Military and the Belleville boots are designed to the US Military spec. For civilian use, Belleville suggests that you order your boot 1 size smaller than your normal sneaker size. Answer: | The Tactical Research boots tend to run 1/2 size larger. The Belleville tend to run about 1 full size larger. BootSolution |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are they true to size |
Answer: | All sizing advice is based on knowing what size your foot measures on a Brannock device, we STRONGLY urge customers to have their foot measured to ensure proper fit and avoid ordering the wrong size. Even with the best advice and right measurements, each person's foot is different, below are RECOMMENDATIONS only we cannot promise it holds true for everyone but we do find it works for MOST Hot Weather boots Run large (i.e. loose) so we tell people to Female Sizing All the above is based on a men's sized boot, so now we need to take into account how a female orders. When a female orders a male boot first as with all sizing you need to have your foot measured on a FEMALE Brannock device; they that size and go DOWN TWO FULL SIZES to determine your male size. Once you know your 'men's size' apply the above rules by boot type. As an example… if you measure a size 085R on a Female Brannock Device, you go down two sizes and your men’s size is a 065R. When ordering a pair of MiniMil's follow the advice as stated above for that boot ordered up a half size getting the size 070R. Thank you.
