Answer:	Timberland White Ledge boots are not insulated and so are not particularly warm in and of themselves. However, because they're mostly leather with few seams, they are very waterproof (many boots claim to be waterproof but are not--too many seams and non-leather parts) and keep your feet dry which helps keep them comfortable. You can buy insulated boots, but unless you're like my sister-in-law (her feet are always cold), they will be too warm in the summer. I much prefer to wear a non-insulated boot and then make them feel warmer/cooler by wearing wool socks in winter and cotton socks in summer. As long as your feet stay dry and you have good moisture-wicking wool socks, this sock method works for me in the winter. Make sure there's enough room in the boots for thicker wool socks--cramped feet will always feel cold.

Answer:	Yes, it works on snow. It is the very first shot boot I ever have. And if you notice I use "IS" not "WAS", because I am still wearing it now, since 2004. It is 15 years already. I only use it in winter time and raining day when the weather condition will not be safe with regular sneakers. I use this boot as snow day shoes in each year, for 15 years now, and the shoe is still in very good condition. I am thinking to get a second pair in different color now. BUT, I will not give this boot a 5 -star rating due to the very poor design of the show lace. For no reason, this round shoe lace constantly got loose when I was walking. After many years' upset with the original round shoe lace, I replaced it with regular flat shoe lace and it works very well now. Therefore, I suggest you also get a regular flat shoe lace ready when the round lace is not properly holding up, so you can just replace it.

Answer:	The boot is not extremely wide for a work boot. If the person has thin calves then it might be considered extremely wide. This boot is similar to other Ariat styles.

The life of these boots, at least mine, was years not months as you are hoping the last until Feb of 2020. My only problem I discovered was I could not get them re-soled. I would still be wearing them if I could have gotten another sole put on.

Answer:	I just went and ran them under the sink sideways for a solid minute and they didn't even get damp inside. However the tongue is not stitched to the side and separates just under the first eyelet, so if you are walking through big puddles the water will wash over the toe and seep in there a bit. They should keep you plenty dry for a long while from just falling rain though. Great shoes imo.

Answer:	That's a very broad question. OSHA standards are many. What I will say is that it and ANSI Z71 rated for the safety toe compression rating according to OSHA standards. Does that help?

Answer:	Both soles cracked completely through at the balls of my feet. This was after about 6 months of usage - it's not like I stress the shoes in anyway - I just walk around on concrete. I submitted a warranty claim to Timberland (all the paperwork and photos required - it was like a timewarp back to the 1980s - fill out this form, answer these questions, provide photographic proof, and submit a receipt :)) and they rejected it because my Amazon purchase was through an "unauthorized seller." I have a pair of Keen Utility work shoes now - more $, hoping they will hold up.

I wouldn't recommend these for anything that requires "slip-resistant" shoes, but they'll keep your feet planted in 95% of everyday situations.

Question:	What is the warranty on these? Is it still the lifetime warranty
Answer:	my son who is the person I bought them for says they can take some water but he is not sure about the boots in flooding situations, He has not had that experience . They are not advertised as water proof but so far (rain ) he has not had a problem. My son does have some back problems but has no problem with the comfort of the boot, he did put in a Dr Scholls gel foot pad. Thats about it

Answer:	I've been wearing Timberland Pro Pit Boss boots for about 8 years now and each pair has never let my feet get wet. They are waterproof and very durable. The pair I have now are at least 3 years old but, alas, the tread is wearing and must be replaced. Oh, and I work in a power plant.
Question:	Are these waterproof
Answer:	Mine have also. 2 pairs! I don't work with chemicals or anything that would affect them. Both right and left boots on two pairs. One pair is soft toe and the other steel toe. On the steel toe - Left foot is 75% off from the heal to about 3" before end of the toe. The Right foot is separated in the center with material missing from one of the layers of plastic (rubber?). Both have a similar vertical crack in the material right before the end of the heal. Can't be too specific on the soft toe - through them in the trash at work today. Earlier today at work one of my employees pulled me aside and told me I smelled like cat pee. He said I had actually had been for about a week now, and others in the shop have noticed it too. Long story short - with every step I took the boots pumped a god awful smell from whatever grew in between the two layers of separation in the boot sole. I almost threw up when I smelled into the crack in the boot material! I dug out my steel toes and that's when I realized that I stopped wearing them because the soles were totally falling apart. My steel toes were made in the Dominican Republic. Like to know if Timberland has fixed this obvious problem before I invest another $150+, or if there is a better boot? · February 16, 2021 | Delete

Question:	are they full water proof, or just water resistant
Answer:	The sole is more less flat, with soft spikes on the surface. Some of these spikes have fallen off due to running on concrete and asphalt, so I should probably not run on roads anymore. Shoes might be a bit soft for doing squats and deadlifts in the gym.
Question:	I need boots for trekking in a tropical jungle like Roraima for a week, I need them to be waterproof and to protect my ancle, is this a good choice
Answer:	I run on asphalt here on base in them. They work great, especially on dirty surfaces. I never tried them on track, but judging by how aggressive the treads are, I think they would be too sticky for that.
Question:	Would these be any good for everyday snow shoveling
Answer:	Very soft, and wears out fast. The sole of my pair of speedcross 4 showed signs of serious wear after only two months and about 50 miles. I am a little disappointed since they are not inexpensive shoes.
Question:	if i was hunting rare tiger's to extinction in the Himalayas in the dead of summer would they hold up to the jungle
Answer:	I wear an 8.5 - 9 in other shoes. I had to buy these in 9.5, the 9 was way too tight on the sides. These shoes are SKINNY

Answer:	Yes they are durable, as much as can be expected without sacrificing comfort... I'm on my 2nd pair, and 1st pair last 3 years of daily, hardcore use.. hardcore. The soles wore, and seams become to look ragged. I bought a 2nd pair though so that tells ya how I feel. Great boot by today's standards.
