I have no idea if Merrell advertises these shoes as being waterproof but here’s my real life experience after owning them for about 5 months. I returned today from two days at the Masters Golf Tournament, practice rounds where it poured rain on and off for the better part of those two days. I wore these shoes and hoped they would just slightly repel water because I really had no other shoe options for this event and the expected rainy conditions. While there I walked through puddles of water inches deep, through mud inches deep, grass soaked with both water and mud. Honestly, I could go on about the inclement conditions. At times it was nightmarish but in two days not a drop of water ever penetrated the interior of these shoes; it was amazing. My feet were completely dry each evening when we returned to our place. This afternoon, at home, I brushed the dried mud from the shoes the best I could then brushed them again with a dry paper towel. They're not clean but they look pretty darn respectable. Tomorrow I'll try to clean them with soap and water per Merrell website instructions to see what that does. Bottom-line no water inside either shoe after two days of soaking rain. PS - no blisters or sore feet either. |

I looked again at the listing and realized there were two different "black" shoes in the color choices and thought maybe they had just accidentally sent the wrong ones - so I ordered them again - the "black" - NOT the "black/black/black". I ended up with the same thing I received the first time around. My husband didn't like them and they still look like plastic to me. I loved the look of the soft pebble leather ones with the lighter gray sole - but it sure isn't what we received. So I was very disappointed. I think Amazon needs to remove the picture of the one shoe becasue it is very deceiving and disappointing if a person expects to receive what they see on the website. I love Amazon and this is actually the first time I've received something that was very inaccurately pictured like that. It certainly won't stop me from shopping Amazon, but it was a disappointment. | Answer: | “Assembled in THE USA” No mention anywhere on the shoes or box of leather. I bought 9½ 4E from MOUNTAIN PEAK through Amazon US in March 2020. So far so good. Very comfortable. |

| Answer: | I have a pair size 12EE and and also have quite flat feet. However, I only tried them on before replacing the insole with my custom orthotics, so I have no idea how they would fit, in the long run. With my orthotics, the fit was still fine; not over or under sized. I deliberately chose the SL-2 last as that has worked for me, in the past. |
