Answer:	Yes, I use this on hatch lids on my houseboat with the carpet wrapped between the hatch and boat. Carpet glue would give away in a short period of time. I did these areas with Weldwood Contact Cement several year ago and has hold up well. I do know that in the future with replacing the carpet, I will have a job taking it off. I also like the jell because it doesn't run while applying.
