Answer:	Well, it depends on what you prefer in a robe. I'm 6' and 225 and I ordered the 2XL/3XL and it is very roomy. I like to have a lot of slack in my robes, so it's OK for me, but the Large/X-Large wold probably be a good fit for me as well. The size chart says the L/XL is for a 52.7 chest size, so you could go by that and order the one that is closest to the size you wear in suits or coats. The robe is long and roomy and very well made so you could very well get along with the S/M which is for a 48.8 inch chest if you like the robe to be snug.

Answer:	It does shrink a bit, but mostly in length. I bought my husband the largest size (XL I think) and he normally wears a XXL (he is 6'2" and 265 so a big guy) and it was a little big prior to washing, shrank a little, but it fits fine and I have washed it a few times. It only shrank the first washing, like any cotton garment. Very happy with it.
