Answer:	I wouldn't advise it. You could push the netted sides down but it might never go back to the normal hat position. Maybe it it was dampened and "blocked",But I wouldn't take that chance.

Answer:	When my hat arrived the mesh material had been pressed flat a blow dryer fixed that however the hat had been packaged with other items that creased the brim that does not seem to be fixable

Answer:	I don't baby mine since I farm and wash it regularly (twice a year). I saturate it with stain remover , put it in the washer in a gentle warm, then cold water cycle. I let it air dry in the form I want and it comes out as nice and seems to form better to my needs after each wash.

Answer:	I would go by the dimensions. Seem pretty accurate. I have a small head and could not get the small. I ordered the medium and made it as tight as possible. Have not worn it for any extended period nor had it on when there was a lot of wind. So far it is OK

Question:	Does this hat have any mesh or vents on the crown
Answer:	It does not have mesh or vents, but the fabric of the crown is very lightweight and breathable. My head always gets hot in hats, but I found this hat to be quite comfortable.
Question:	What is the diameter of the brim, and of the crown
Answer:	It's a bit of an oval. The "length" of the brim front to back is 14.5" with the crown being 8". The "width" of the brim across is 13.5" with the crown 7". The crown has an internal adjustment with a cinched cord and clasp. Easy to use. I love this hat for my use of it. I always wear it when I am casually swimming/floating in the ocean or pool. When waves overtake me the hat doesn't care. The brim is sturdy without being stiff. It will bend but always remember its shape. I put my hair in a pony tail and fit the back of the crown just over the bump out of the pony tail - sometimes I tuck it all up into the crown, but mostly not. That keeps it on my head fairly tight. That way I don't need to secure the chin strap. In fact, I keep the chin strap draped behind my neck when I swim. If I wear my hair down - no ponytail - then it is a bit looser, and the crown adjustment doesn't work as snugly for me. So then I use the chin strap. Again, I love this hat. I had one before, but left it behind at the beach and was devastated. So I had to buy this second one.
Question:	Can it be folded or rolled
Answer:	Because the crown flattens so well, I pack it flat. I have not tried to roll it. I have put it in my beach bag loosely folded (curved in on itself) on top of everything else, but I wouldn't pack it folded and put something heavy on it where it would crease the rim. Interesting that the Seller says they ship it rolled. Mine came nice and flat.
Question:	Can you machine wash the hat
Answer:	Hi! my wife have used it only 1 time so far and haven't washed it yet--- But one of the labels say: machine wash and i have had many columbia hats and stuff in the past and have always used the machine washer to clean them (cold water). Hope this works for You :)

Answer:	No they are not waterproof. If you want waterproof, you have to buy a waterproof hat, but they are very hot.

Answer:	Models change all the time. I really like this hat from Columbia. I bought 3 different types from 3 companies to compare and have backups available and the Columbia was by far my favorite. Yes, the clip is useful in big winds but I wouldn't consider it a showstopper if the model you want doesn't have it. I don't think my Columbia has a clip, rather it has a toggle with elastic which I rely on to keep it tight to my head in big winds and it works well. Very light weight hat, excellent protection, never too hot, dries quickly - my private cloud for my fair skin and sensitive eyes.
