User questions & answers
Question: | Are they a good driving glove also |
Answer: | No not good driving gloves |
Question: | Do these have a membrane so moist vapor can escape from inside the glove |
Answer: | I used these gloves and my hands did not get wet. |
Question: | My boyfriend does land survey would he be able to use a hammer or close his fist easily |
Answer: | You can make a fist and I've used them for general cold weather yard work, but the gloves take away fine motor skills. Gripping a hammer would likely not be a problem. Holding a nail might be slightly more difficult. |
Question: | Will gloves keep my hands warm at 0 degrees Fahrenheit? Are they wind proof |
Answer: | I have had these gloves for several years now and just a little wear on the fingers but still keep my hands warm when I am out plowing my driveway with my tractor, But for extended periods of plowing in sub-zero windy weather I have two pair, one I am wearing and the other pair is tucked in the front of my jacket, when my fingers start getting cold, I just switch them out, and put the warm pair on and put the other pair in the jacket to warm up , I can keep going all day that way. I really like them. and I haven't found any one pair of gloves that will keep my hands warm all day in sub-zero weather without a little help. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Need to return..... received |
Answer: | This is a very "it all depends" question. I typically start running in thermals at about the temp in your question. However, I don't run marathons. I have run in non-thermals from 2XU, CW-X and Skins down to around 30F (say -1-ish C) fairly comfortably after my legs have warmed up. I think I'd run them in even lower temps, provided there was little or no wind, but as I have thermals from all the brands mentioned, I run those out of habit. My suggestion would be to go with CW-X Stabilyx (non-thermal) as those are heavier to start with, plus the support system is great (for my knees, anyway); the CW-X thermals are almost too heavy and stiff unless the temp is down around the low 20sF. Having said that, 2XU compression compares very favorably with the other tier one brands (e.g., CW-X, Skins). If you are looking for compressive comfort both during and after a run, these are great. The edge 2XU has over CW-X is the thermals are surprisingly light ("are these really thermals?") yet, once on the road, they do a great job overall. Respondent demographics: 55+, 15-20 road miles per week, no marathons of any length, some trail running, but mostly road work. (Good luck to you.) |
Question: | can you use this as winter gloves just good enough to keep your hands warm |
Answer: | 2XU....always 2XU |
Question: | My hand is 4 inches wide. according to your chart, i, as a 35 year old man, should be wearing a toddler's small. that can't be right, can it |
Answer: | It is not recommended to wear the 2XU men's core compression tights while swimming, but they are ideal to wear pre-swim for a faster warm up and post-swim workout to aid and speed recovery. Product care instructions are machine wash in cold water and hang to dry. The 2XU men's core compression tights are not treated for use in water. Please note that the manufacturer warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect use or failure to follow care instructions. If you still wish to wear these to swim be mindful that salt and chlorinated water increase damage & decomposition to materials and seems. While swim damage is not covered by warranty, you may be able to maximize product life and minimize damage by rinsing thoroughly with fresh cold water immediately after swim use. |
Question: | do these work on touch screens / phones |
Answer: | I’m not sure , I do run my Spartan Races in them . I guess you could try , try are perfect compression leggings. I do like them . |

Question: | how do you determine size |
Answer: | No, Carhartt Insulated System 5 Driver work gloves are not made with real leather. They are made of durable System 5 synthetic leather. Both black and brown colors of Insulated System 5 Driver work gloves across all sizes (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large) are made of System 5 synthetic leather. |
Question: | Can you use a touchscreen with these on |
Answer: | They're not driving gloves in the sense of being thin, but if you mean are they good for driving when it's winter out, then yes. |
Question: | determine size |
Answer: | I don't think that they would be good duty gloves. The gloves are warm and comfortable but, due to the insulation, I find it difficult, if not impossible, to get my index finger into the trigger guard of my sidearm. Also, there is very little tactile sensitivity. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do your hand sweat |
Answer: | A better choice is the Carhartt WB Dex glove for New England cold weather. You can find it on Amazon by typing "Carhartt A706" is the search bar. The WB Dex (A706) and The Dex II (A659) are similar in that they are both durable, high dexterity gloves with textured, breathable spandex shells with hook and loop cuff closures. The difference: WB Dex is insulated with a Storm Defender waterproof, breathable, windproof insert. |
Question: | Do these come in pairs |
Answer: | Carhartt does not recommend machine washing the Men's Dex II gloves or any of the gloves in the Carhartt line. We suggest cleaning your Carhartt gloves with a damp cloth and mildly soapy solution if needed, and then hang-drying them away from a direct heat source. |
Question: | Would my hands get too hot doing camping work (collecting wood, chopping logs, etc.) in summer? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes, Carhartt Men's The Dex II gloves would be a great choice for working with cactus because they 1) allow you to work with skill and ease with your hands (high dexterity) and 2) protect fingers, thumbs, and palms with System 5 synthetic leather. |
Question: | Do fingers get cold |
Answer: | Not sure about the comparison to Wells Lamont glove but it's a good glove. It is not padded but a great fitting well built glove. |

Answer: | They run pretty true to size to men's work gloves of the same type. In other words, the medium Carhartt men's all purpose nitrile dipped gloves fit like other brands of nitrile dipped gloves. If you don't know your size, go to a hardware store and try some on. I prefer this brand, they dry out easily enough and last as long or longer than any other brand I've worn. I keep at least two good pairs around so one can dry out if needed while one is in use. |
Question: | Are these anti-vibration |
Answer: | I bought large size. Yes, they differ in size. Two middle fingers are about 3 inches, small finger about 2 inches; index finger between the two. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these gloves have a removable liner |
Answer: | Carhartt Women's Pro Palm work gloves would do well gripping wet chains. The palm, finger, and thumb areas have direct injection molded C-Grip TPR coating giving them extreme grip. |
Question: | Do these come in all black |
Answer: | It takes a lot of work before a nail will cut thru. I have long nails and work in the dirt like I have steel claw hands. I am not gentle on myself and eventually, my thumb nail cuts thru the tip so I've gone thru a few pair. Always the same nail. So now I put a cheap bandaid over that thumb nail to give it extra cushioning. This type of glove is the best I have found to work with tho. And, I have large hands for a woman (man hands as Seinfeld calls 'em) and usually wear a lg or xlg. The lg on these work but they're a bit bigger than I like. Still quite functional tho. I love these and another brand that's identical. |
Question: | Judging by the picture, they look like they're insulated, but it doesn't say so in the description. Are these insulated |
Answer: | Your hand will stink for a day or two if your sweat mixes with that rubber , it has no fabric in the inside |
