Answer:	Yes, and keep in mind that if you have an item that is just a 'bit' too long- you can 'cant' it a little to the 'diagonal' so in essence you probably could fit something that is not too wide but a little longer than the full 35" length. I used this luggage to transport a lot of work equipment - it worked great and has not had any failures to date. The bottom of the bag can be fully exposed when you open up the bottom compartment/zipper. Hope this answer helps you!

Answer:	I see the original post is quite old, but for further questions... I just returned from a International trip where I used 2 of these bags fully loaded with 20 kgs. / 44 lbs. My limit was 50 lbs and neither my domestic carrier nor my international carrier batted an eye at the size. I flew Japan Airline and Co-shared my domestic flight with American Airlines. The ticket counter even joked I had could have carried 6 additional pounds in each bag. On my international flights they weighed the bags all at once. However, if you are on a strict airline that charges for everything, these are over the published sizes and could charge over size fees, but if they are under weight, they may look the other way.

Answer:	The bag has two compartments, but it’s has the ability to be one. The layer in between is a mesh compartment that separates the top and bottom half. The bottom half is around 28” long and about 14” wide. The lower compartment is about 5”deep before the upper compartment which is another 6” or so. All in all there is a lot of room in it more than most suitcases the same size.
Question:	Is the 35" version too big to be considered "standard luggage" with an airline
Answer:	Technically at 67" (h+w+d), yes by 2 inches. For most airlines it's 65 inches (h+w+d) and packed weight of 50 pounds. But guessing as long as it remained under 50 pounds in weight, most would not notice the extra 2 inches. (which could disappear if cinched down tight.)

It is slightly bigger than the max size for a carry on, so whether you have to gatecheck it or not is up to their discretion. I chose not to use the side pockets which would have made it fatter and I didn't want it getting caught on any equipment going thru the luggage tunnels at an airport. For a road trip I would have had them all full. I also used some long mailing boxes for the insides so there was a bit of form and this turned out to be an awesome idea. So, no, I did not have to pay over sized luggage fees.

Answer:	I crawled into this bag once and someone picked me up and carried me around the living room. I was about 150 lbs at the time. This bag holds 150 pounds. haha.
Question:	When fully packed do the dimensions come under 62 linear inches? For an airline like Spirit
Answer:	No. Mine was well over 62" when fully packed. I used it to carry washable feminine hygiene kits (fairly dense fabric) to Uganda, and I needed to get 49 lbs in each duffel bag. I had to use a smaller duffel inside this one as a compression bag to compact 90% of the kits in, then put the remaining 10% of the kits around the compression bag in order to get close to 50 lbs without exceeding 62". The other answer used space bags. So you would need some sort of compression to get close to 50lbs of fabric w/o exceeding 62".

Question:	Will this fit on American Airlines
Answer:	I do not know if it will fit on Am. Airlines. You would have to know the dimensions allowed as a carry-on for that airline. I had to return the one I bought because although the description says it works as a carry-on, it it too big. It is also rather cumbersome, and I think it would definitely be a problem trying to get it into those small overhead bins.

Answer:	I doubt it. I returned mine because it would not fit the dimensions of the carry-on, even though it is described as a carry-on. Also, it would be very difficult to get it into the overhead bin.

Answer:	Depends on what you mean. There are two pockets on each side of a 19" bag. I would say that the middle of the bag not including pockets that yes it is a 17" bag.

Question:	How much does the 30" bag weigh empty
Answer:	It's about 12 lbs, so it's fairly heavy. Heavier than I thought it would be. Shipping weight was 12.7 lbs, so subtract a few ounces for the box. Something to consider when airlines limit luggage weight to 50 lbs.
Question:	Does this fold flat and is it waterproof? Taking on sailboat trip
Answer:	You can fold it flat. In fact it was delivered flat. Not sure it is waterproof. But the material does seem waterproof.
Question:	If the most common maximum size checked bag allowed is 62 linear (total) inches, why does the mid sized bag have a 63.5 inches
Answer:	The linear inches is ignored commonly by airline ticket counter reps as they focus on the total weight. Of course there's a limit to large sized bags but agents check 36 inch bags all the time as long as they do not exceed 50 lbs...this 37 inch bag at 50lbs or less should be no problem but likely will not be full at 50lbs so actual size is less...I'm in the industry and know a lot of airline reps...they are focused on weight far more than size...
