The measurements are 16”x16” with a 7-1/4” height maximum. Just to be safe if you are wanting to put something in a microwave that is over 7-1/8” tall then don’t get this. Answer:	The shelves do not easily fold down. In fact I ended up taking the lower shelf off entirely because it's one the way if you try to sit and use it which I sometimes do. Answer:	I know someone just said that this can't be done, but honestly, I don't know why that would be the case. The top shelf with the metal brackets is mounted to the main frame with two bolts. Then you bolt the wood shelf onto those metal brackets. I'm pretty positive you could mount it the other way around. To be clear though, this isn't going to help with it sticking out or something like that. The top shelf extends level with the bottom shelf on the base. So the base will still stick out and that part cannot be moved. The other problem I could see with adjusting things the way you asked is that there would be very little space between the topmost shelf and the keyboard shelf area. Still, if there was some niche reason why you would need to do this then I don't see why that would be difficult to do..

From bottom to top in inches they are bottom (1st) is 17 & 3/4 w x 13 & 3/4 d, next (2nd) is 18 & 1/2 w by 9 d, Keyboard shelf (3rd) is 27 & 1/2 w by 15 & 3/4 d and the top (4th) is 27 & 1/2 w x 14 d. Note that only the top two shelves are adjustable and the lowest height on mine is 32 inches to the keyboard shelf. Cheers.

Answer:	it is very easy, all you have to do is lift the top shelf, as you bring it up in about every inch you'll hear a click. to bring it back down you have to lift it all the way up and than push it back down.
Question:	What size would i get for a 5 year old? Shes lanky but small
Answer:	The second shelf is not moveable. I do not have the unit handy but it is about 3 feet off ground level.
Question:	Wich size should i pick for a 12 year old
Answer:	I don't typically type when I am using this. I use it as a presentation station that allows flexibility of a flat or tilted surface. However, it does not get in the way of typing and there is room for a mouse. I took the wheels off because it was difficult to level with them attached.
Question:	Which size should i pick for a 11 year old
Answer:	You could elect not to install the second shelf, but it not removable. Once in place it cannot be removed without dismantling. I am not sure if forgoing the installation of the second shelf will affect the stability of the stand... something to think about.
