Answer:	Inmarsat Satellites in orbit would still work because they are positioned in geostationary orbit at 22,000 miles above Earth's equator. This is much further than any EMP can reach unless it's caused by a solar flare, but a solar flare damage is highly unlikely because satellites are well shielded from electromagnetic radiation. Satellite phones do not have built in EMP protection, but you can protect it by placing it in a well insulated metal container that acts as a Faraday cage. EMP protection bags are also available on Amazon, these work great but make sure you choose proven and tested quality. See youtube for real reviews. In conclusion, you only need a EMP protection bag to store and protect your satellite phone from an Electromagnetic Pulse event.

Answer:	You cannot use a Thuraya SIM card in an IsatPhone. Each satellite phone and satellite network has their own SIM cards with specific pricing plans. You can only use an IsatPhone SIM card with an IsatPhone Pro or IsatPhone 2, a Thuraya SIM with Thuraya satellite phones, Iridium SIM cards with Iridium satellite phones and Globalstar with Globalstar service plans. Answer:	I am still confused please explain. 1. Does the 30 day period start the moment you buy the minutes or the moment you active the card? For example, I would like to buy 30 minutes, keep it in my drawer for 1-2 years, then when I travel just active it. Will that work?

Answer:	The Isatphone Prepaid service will have an international Inmarsat phone number. The country code is 870. Calling into that number will be very expensive for the caller. We always suggest that anyone trying to contact the satellite phone use the SMS/Text function. The IsatPhone may receive SMS/Text messages from a cell phone, email or a web form, and the Isatphone is not charged to receive the message and has a very low rate for sending a message, so it is very cost effective.
Question:	Can readout be set for degrees, minutes, seconds
Answer:	No...but converting is easy... Example: 38 15.625' is 38 15' 37.5' (.625*60=37.5) Also, one cannot change which system is used. Also, although it says BeiDou, I do not think it can use that as I display only shows GPS and GLONASS satellites and there is not menu setting that I can find to change that. But BeiDou is not needed and less accurage.

Answer:	If you mean by location then yes it can give you the general area to search.
Question:	Is their an owners manual for this unit
Answer:	It comes with a folded sheet of instructions--the instructions are easy to read. The units measure position roughly accurate to about 5m and measure distance and areas with accuracies related to that accuracy. Note: Although the units advertise as doing BeiDou besides GPS and GLONASS, the units that I have received only do GPS and GLONASS. In the photo you can see a row of bars for GPS and a row for GLONASS. There is no third row for BeiDou despite the advertising that it will also use BeiDou.

Answer:	No but the language use is very little and it is simple to operate.

Answer:	Can't see why not. Look online for Garmin-compatible charts, whether from Garmin or not. (My hiking map, with contours and more trails than the USGS maps, was a free download! Look around.) The eTrex models are waterproof, which is a plus. Think seriously about the display size, though. The whole unit fits in the palm of your hand, and its display is only a couple inches high. (See the specs. I might be off a little.) We hikers and hunters can stop and consult the unit, then start walking again. Your boat might travel quite a distance while you peer at that tiny screen, even with the engine stopped. Just a thought.Garmin obviously had boaters in mind when they programmed this, regardless of its size. It even has a "Man Overboard" function that instantly records its current location, then displays the distance and direction back to there while you turn the boat around. It shows tides, too, at whatever tide stations are close to you. Bottom line: it will do everything you need (I think) and do it all day and on into the next morning on a pair of AA cells, but your eyes will ask you why you didn't buy something with a bigger screen.

Answer:	The maps that come preloaded are: Worldwide DEM Basemap (NR), Digital Globe demo (Jnx) and USGS Quads - Grand Canyon National Park (Jnx). Unfortunately, you will have to get the topo maps separately.

Answer:	yes on the compass (electronic) but turn on the WAAS depending on if you set the compass for a true north or magnetic north WAAS gets rid of the errors jumping from satellite to satellite
Question:	What is the significant difference between this Garmin and the Garmin Oregon 600t base model without the camera
Answer:	The Oregon and all the Garmin "state" models all have a touch screen, don't they? The eTrex series doesn't. For controls it has the Power/battery check button and "back button on the right, and on the left, the zoom-in and -out buttons, plus the Menu button. On the front, at top-right, is the main control, a little thumbstick. Use it for scrolling and selecting menu items and for moving the map beyond your location.You'll want to spend some time reading the manual; this thing has a LOT of functionality. Most important shortcut: no matter how deep you go in the menus, double-tapping the Menu button takes you back to the main screen, with Map highlighted.

Answer:	it needs reception, cannot use WiFi and does not need a SIM card in it to use to call 211 or 911, but you do need reception. It is a good phone though.
Question:	How long will you be able to use these phones in the Chicago area? Does the emergncy # have to be 911 or can it be to a security company w/o sim
Answer:	As long as as you have TMobile in your area the phone will work on any network backed by TMobile. Also the emergency key is not programmable and is set to 911. You can only dial 911 without a Sim in the USA. There are few speed dial keys you can set up on the number pad. I personally recommend Ting for service since it's only $6 a month if you don't use the phone. Hope all this helps!

Answer:	I barely smelled the lavender. It's dust free compared to the others but the pooo smell lingers and the pee smell goes away. I would compare to the other top litters for pricing before buying this one.
