Answer:	no it does no include brighteners
Question:	Instructions say to first wash load of rags AND to use hard water additive which I didn't order. What happens if I wash in hard water w/o additive
Answer:	You won't need the water softener if you have soft water. The instructions are there because Charlie's Soap will wash the machine out, and it will do it with whatever load you start with. The last thing you want is for junk to fall off the drum and land on your new top from the Gap...or whatever store is hip today. ;)
Question:	How does this work for cloth diapers? And HE machines
Answer:	For my cloth diapers, I wash them in a load of homemade powder detergent (1 cup borax, 1 cup washing soda, 1 bar of ivory soap - powdered together in a food processor). Then, I wash them again with a scoop of charlies soap & 1/4 cup white vinegar in the liquid fabric softener area. it works great, and I've experimented with A LOT of different detergents & combinations!

Question:	Is this a two pack or just one
Answer:	Thought I was getting 2 (per the picture and price) but only one bag showed up. If I wanted 1 bag, I would have ordered a single bag for $16. The warehouse label on the protective bag this came in clearly said "2 Pack" but there was only one 2.64 lb bag of soap in it. Could have been a fulfillment issue rather than a vendor issue. YMMV. Amazon customer service was helpful in correcting this.

Answer:	Yes, it is non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
Question:	Amazon has sold this to me in the past but now will not place my order because of my shipping location (California). What gives
Answer:	It's likely that the entity from which you bought the item does not have stock in the warehouse closest to you. Answer:	Yes, we do make a Free and Gentle Powder that is in a box!
Question:	I ordered tide ultra powder and the boxes received just say tide on the box, they do not say ultra tide like the picture on amazon's site. same thing
Answer:	I have 3 boxes on the shelf and one opened and all 4 show "Ultra" just above the Tide name on front of box.

Answer:	When I received my prime pantry box with the tide soap powder in it, everything in the box was inside its own zip top style bag so if there were any spills it was contained with in the bag. The prime pantry box is packed and shipped very well. I am very pleased with how it arrived.
Question:	Will this detergent , work just as well in a regular non / HE machine
Answer:	You can probably use it but I think regular detergent works better if your clothes are very dirty. My HE washer with HE Tide does not clean as well as my old regular washer did with regular detergent. Some clothes now have to be washed twice.

A: We’ve recently changed the location of the 'HE' symbol on Tide detergent for ease of navigation. The 'HE (high efficiency)' is now communicated through a logo on the neck of the Tide bottle. In previous versions it is located near the bottom of the Tide bottle.

Answer:	I didn't notice any smell. The detergent didn't work very well in an HE machine and left the clothes smelling like wet clothes. I even used twice the amount suggested, and still the same. Not good for HE front load machines.
Question:	Instructions say to place it directly into the washer tub, not in the automatic dispenser. Why? Putting it in the tub will not work in my washer
Answer:	It will work. Just sprinkle the powder on the load before you shut the door and start the cycle. Works quite well!
Question:	Is this safe to use on colors
Answer:	Yes, it’s safe for whites and colors. It doesn’t contain bleach. It’s concentrated so use the recommended scoop amount for each load.

Answer:	I'm sure it is. However, I buy their refill soap packaged in a brown paper sack and reuse the container (made of sturdy cardboard and a tin base).
