Answer:	No you can not! I learned the hard way by doing so. I had a bad cold and I put some Eucalyptus oil in the water tank with the water. What it ended up doing is warping the plastic opening and after about 2 uses after, the cap just fell apart so I had to throw that away. I can still use it, but I have to add the water by hand.

I make sure all the components (3 of them; the body, top part, and the little water container) get dry. Package says once in a while to make sure there is no buildup to put couple of drop of clear vinegar in it and use it. hope this helps :)

Answer:	I like to put my face wash on the brush head when I wash my face, it makes my skin feel super clean when I do wash it with the brush. The sponge head I use when I apply my serums or oils because it feels good, like it is massaging it into my skin. Answer:	I usually stay away about 1-2 feet to prevent from burning my face. It may need to add more water or maybe some parts were not installed properly? I would double check, sometimes we may miss a small detail. Let it run on without using it, maybe it needs a cleaning. I hope it's useful and good luck!
