Answer:	Both are quality built. Own both. First got and shaved with the Godfather. It's suppose to be more gentle on my 78yr old wrinkled skin. Previously been using the inexpensive Feather RE about $13. Using the included blade the Godfather cut me barely in many places. Not for me! Seriously trying to figure out why the cheaper Feather seldom to no cuts. Compared the blade space below to the guard bridge on Feather and Godfather. Big difference, Godfather much bigger gap. Just received the Chieftain. Compared to Godfather much narrower and similar to the Feather. IMHO, the Godfather butchered me. The Chieftain looks good. When my face heals I will cautiously try it. Until then the electric will have to do. It almost seems I got a defective Godfather of the blade was narrower, yes, it seems unlikely. BTW, I do not like the weight or bigger handle on the Godfather. Both tend to disallow light smooth handling! Others, likely, will disagree but that is my experience. Happy Trails

Answer:	I just purchased mine. As of 2020, this model Chieftan is different from the BAILI bd179. It's 10 grams heavier, has a thicker base plate, and has 4 lather holes on each side rather than 2 oblong ones. That's not to discount the BAILI at all. I just preferred the heftiness of the Viking. And you can get the "Odin Obsidian Black and Gold" for just a few dollars more as it's currently on sale.

Answer:	Compared to the Merkur 34C, the Chieftain BC seems to have a little more blade presentation, but I've liked the Merkur from the start and I like this a lot too. Frankly both have a good size and weight and both are easy to handle. Both have really secure heads with heaviness compared to some others. I have a Van Der Hagen butterfly model and I like that too, but it tends to be a little more problematic and has a head which isn't as heavy as the former two.

Question:	I just got this shaver (without a cleaning base) and in Manual I don't see any mention of putting oil on the blades. Does it need to be oiled
Answer:	I have been using foil shavers for about 60 years, I am now 76, and never used oil. When the blades cut whiskers they also stuff off some skin cells. I don't think it is healthy for the skin to put machine oil on it. You don't see this in the manual because it's not a good idea in my opinion.

Answer:	Definitely super close shave. A great deal depends on the perfection of your technique: Use a small amount of moisture of any kind during the final minute or two so that the skin will bunch up/roll as the shaver head is pressed over it. This exposes the very roots of the whiskers to the cutters. The result is an ultra smooth shave easily the equivalent of the Gillette razor.
Question:	I always end up having problems with the cleaning station. Anyone have any issues with this model
Answer:	I've had two cleaning stations break on me, both times the pump stopped working. First lasted just ever a year. Panasonic wouldn't sell me a replacement, so the first time I had to send the razor+cleaning station back and they sent me a brand new razor+cleaning station as a warranty replacement. Such a waste, since there was nothing wrong with the razor itself. The second cleaning station stopped cleaning after less than a year. I'm not going to bother trying to replace it again, will just clean in manually.

Answer:	When you clean the razor in the base, some hair goes into the solution cartridge. I found that some collects in the base and needs to be wiped out or rinsed out when you change the cartridge. I have to do all this for my husband!

Answer:	Just rinse it under the sink while it’s turned on. You can also add a drop or two of hand soap before rinsing it under the sink. If you do pre-rinse the cutting head make sure you then use the cleaning station, as rinsing the cutting head in the sink removes all lubricant from the razor. The Braun cleaning solution is just alcohol and lemon oil, the lemon oil acts as a lubricant.

Answer:	Black man here. I've had one of these for 5 years and can add my voice to the mix: only minor skin irritations, but I don't use aftershave at all, just some lotion. My only extra advice is that the automatic cleaner base broke after 2 years, but the plug goes directly into the shaver, which I now buzz into a glass of soap. And the sideburn shaver part broke off just this year, but the shaver still lasts for 10+ shaves / 6 weeks for a charge after all this time.

Answer:	Mine is model number Remington PG6025. When Mine is totally dead, I plug in the charging cord, the green light comes on. And it works as if it's fully charged. Mine, maybe I got lucky, maybe it's a fluke, but MY Remington PG6025 DOES indeed work fine when plugged in if the battery is TOTALLY dead.

Answer:	Yes and very well. You should be sure you're only using it against taught skin, so if you need to stretch things a bit to get a proper working area, that's the way to go. For methods, the end of the razor head actually looks like an angled blade like this /\\\ where the / is the blade and the \\\ is the razor body. when shaving with the razor) go in the same direction as the hair grain (pretty neat to find out how it curves etc). Go with the grain first, then against. Typically the thighs, pubis, and posterior can all be shaved in any direction. Your meat and potatoes are the troublesome parts. Answer:	For my nearly 70 year-old eyes, the improved lcd and especially the ev were worth it. I've been shooting an fz200 for a couple of years, really like it. But I'm almost shooting outside, nature photos, and especially while kayaking. LOTS of sun/glare, and the lcd was almost useless. The EV on the 200 is acceptable, but small and sometimes difficult to get right to the eye. The 300's lcd still won't stand up to very bright conditions, but the EV is far better. I also find the top dial control a substantial improvement on the back dial on the 200, which was tricky to handle with the left thumb, which is what it's positioned for. Pushing the back dial was the way to switch back and forth from aperture/shutter control and exposure compensation; the 300 has a separate function button for EC control. I'm very pleased with the improvements, and they were worth the money for me.

Answer:	Yes, if your military keep on in your locker or glove compartment. Just don't press hard because you'll cut yourself or break the razor. This has saved my ass many times when burning the midnight oil and didn't buy new blades for my razor and wanted to avoid getting rash, razor burn and ingrown hair because of a old blade. I have sensitive skin and shaving wet with this blade cuts close with little bit pressure but I develop a rash. So I dry shave after pt just incase they do a inspection. This saved me many times and only once I got a comment to replace the blade on my razor, lol.

Answer:	I concur with a lot of the other answers in that it is the best razor clipper whatever that I have ever used downstairs. You DO have to pull your skin taut at certain places or you will nick yourself. I've only just now done this experiment, so I don't know about irritation level when it starts to grow back, which has been the biggest deterrent to doing this in the past. If anyone has some feedback on how the growing back process is in terms of irritation and itching, etc, please reply!
