I've used straighteners in the past that work well but make your hair frizzy and dry, but with this one you will not have that problem

Answer:	It does have (+) and (-) buttons to regulate and set the temperature. You have 10 options to choose from between 285F and 455F. I’ve used other Relvon flat irons in both Europe and America with just the plug attachment and haven’t had any problems. The Manual of this one says “outside north America use a plug adapter of the proper configuration with the plug before connecting to any outlet” My guess is with just a plug attachment (not a whole adapter that will change the voltage) will work just fine on 220V.

Answer:	It seemed to work on mine and I am African American with very thick especially since I stopped getting perms. Just make sure u are not trying to straighten to big a piece at once and take your time pulling it through. I would use some heat protectant on your hair too because it does get hot. My hair wasn't too nappy either so if you have that problem I would try to comb it a little first but this flat iron should still work in my honestly its pretty good. It should work on 430 or whatever the highest recommended temp the slip in the box said thats what I used.

Answer:	No you cannot!!! Despite being clearly labelled as working OK with "120-250V" outlets, this is not the case. While on vacation in Europe my wife plugged it in to an outlet and it began sparking and almost caught on fire. Most regular sized irons are 11 to 12 inches. This is called a mini iron. This is from the drop down menu below the regular iron. It is important to read all the descriptions to know what you are getting.
Question:	Does it work well on African American or mixed curly hair
Answer:	I've had this flat iron for 5 or 6 years, I've used it for maybe about 3 of those years where my hair was a mix of natural and permed, and YES it works very well on African American hair. There is a heat controlled setting on this flat iron. So, to the person that states it's too hot and breaks an AA's hair off, first of all, not all AA's hair is the same. My hair requires a greater amount of heat to straighten. Second, I don't think they are using the setting correctly because the heat setting can be controlled. It will fry anyone's hair (fabrics, clothing, etc.) on the highest setting, which I believe is 450 deg. I keep it right around 410 deg. I use this to achieve very straight styles (or right after a shampoo and blow dry) and my mini for daily use. I also use this with a thermal protector like Mizani thermal protector. I also use to use this with the Mizani's Gloss Veil when until they stopped making it. Make a long story short, it can get very hot, but don't use it on it's highest setting.
Question:	what is the difference between the 3rd generation and regular iron
Answer:	I believe the only difference is that the 3rd generation has slightly longer plates than the regular iron. Neither of these flat irons are of the current generation, which is why they're being sold so cheaply. I think they must be a few years old, because if you look at the current 1-inch flat iron on HSI's website, it's slightly different and costs quite a bit more. That said, I bought the regular iron here and I could not be happier with it. It's everything I wanted. I can curl or straighten my hair, it doesn't burn, the temperature can be adjusted so easily. My only warning is that it doesn't have an automatic turn-off, so you need to be someone who can always remember to turn it off or unplug it.

Answer:	Yes this is permanent hair straightening. It usually lasts about 8 months for me until the new hair growing out becomes unruly. My hair doesn't grow very fast so it depends on the person. The hair has to be washed. Apply the straightener let it sit 10-15 mins. wash it out, dry your hair and flat iron in very small sections until all of your hair is completely straight. then apply the neutralizer. Be careful and make sure it is applied to all of your hair. Missing this step can result in hair loss. Leave neutralizer in the hair and work through throughly for 10 minutes. wash the hair and dry again and re iron in small sections. don't wet hair or use any hair accessories for 3 days. Im not a professional but i have had this done to my hair for the past ten years. I recently used this product and did it myself. I would caution you that you should not use this if you have any hair dye or any other processing in your hair. Again I'm not a professional I can only relay my experience with my own hair. Answer:	Add me to the group! I purchased this iron a year ago. A year and TEN days ago. I know this because this morning when water started pouring out of my iron, I had to look up the date of purchase, so I could use my spiffy one year warranty. So much for that!! One year, and this pretty expensive iron is broken, ten days after the warranty expires. I am beyond frustrated, reading that this has happened to others who purchased one of these irons. My last iron was $12 at Walmart and lasted 15 years, four moves, 2 children, and a serviceman who wore BDU's, which needed to be ironed, five days a week. Get the warranty!!

Answer:	Yes they are. That's part of what you're paying the high price for. I had another Rowenta iron similar to this and it had over 100 temperature settings. This is important if you iron a variety of delicate synthetic fabrics, because the cheap irons just don't "cut" it.

Answer:	I think the cleaning tap water after each use demand is reflective of the answer whether to utilize distilled H2O. Answer:	These are authentic Gilette blades. Many years ago I spoke to Gilette customer service and they told me how to verify if blades were authentic or knock offs. On the back of the plastic that holds the blade just under the piece that pivots there are code numbers, about 8 digits. Counter fitters do not have the ability to place these tiny code numbers onto the plastic, and in truth who actually knows about this. The blades sent from Amazon have these code numbers.
Question:	Can I download the instructions? I lost all that and can't remember what all the buttons mean
Answer:	I find it really hard to believe that people can shave their entire face 31 times with a single blade. But, that's not what Gillette claim. They say it lasts a month, but really they mean it lasts 8 to 10 shaves. For me, I would need to trim my beard before I shaved if I waited that long between uses. I would say that if you can grow a full beard 1 blade a week is what you can expect to get from these blades. That said, the one week works better than any other disposable blade on the market. Gillette will never sell you 1 blade for $1 as long as they still cost a nickle to make.
