User questions & answers
Question: | Is the back curved or straight |
Answer: | It is curved. You can see three pieces with curves on the top in the pattern in the left in the middle. You cut 2 of each of those for the right and left sides of the back of the chair. |
Question: | can the templates be used and the plans be easily altered to build a tall/high version of this chair |
Answer: | The plans has the exact size for adirondak chair I pesonally don't recommend to change, would be a waste of time and money |
Question: | How thick are the boards recommended for this chair |
Answer: | I used 1x , which is 3/4 “ thick. Turned out nice . I used pine. Look up Norm Abrams video on Adirondack chair, it helped me a lot. Good luck! |
Question: | Any experience trying to use this template with composite decking/wood? If so, pictures? Is there a strength concern? Thank you |
Answer: | So I love the templates and I have made some chairs from pallets. We all know pine isn't a good wood for out doors. But its free and so far 5 years & still strong. Anyway yes I made a chair from composet decking..WAY TO HEAVY. after cutting all the parts and stacki g them to move them I realized way to heavy for me. Might be ok for you though. |

Question: | How much wood and other materials do you have to buy? Just curious if actual cost to build |
Answer: | Don’t remember the cost of materials or how much wood I used . I do know that you do need to purchase more materials to build it. Hope that helps you out. |
Question: | Is the pattern a full pattern? My dad purchased one that only did have the pattern for the double adirondack chairs |

Includes four complete plans. A perennial outdoor favorite from California to Maine, Adirondack furniture is named for the resort area in upstate New York where it originated. This uniquely American design combines classic styling, built-in comfort and rock-solid durability, giving it a relaxed appeal that's easy to understand. The down side is that this quintessential marriage of style and function is usually an expensive proposition-unless you're a do-it-yourselfer. Adirondack furniture is surprisingly simple to build, so if you're willing to get your hands dirty, there's no reason to pay high prices. The four-piece set pictured here requires only basic tools and is built from inexpensive pine and fir lumber. First, trace the parts onto wood (using full-size patterns) and cut everything out. Next, sand and assemble with brass or plated carriage bolts and wood screws. Once assembled, apply paint, stain or sealer as preferred. The love seat measures about 46 inches long by 38 inches tall by 39 inches deep. About U-Bild plans: U-Bild plans are ideal for woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers of all skill levels. Unique "trace, saw and assemble" designs feature simple-to-follow patterns (like sewing patterns) that produce professional-looking results.
