Answer:	I’m not sure what exactly you mean. Where the two sides over lap is about 2.5 inches. The gate will open a total of 41.5 inches not counting the side bumpers that fit between door frames.

Answer:	It might work if you put a 2x4 or 4x4 block of wood to mount the two against. I don't think they would hold just mounting them against each other.

Answer:	Thank you for your question. The bumpers on the Wire Mesh Gate are not intended to be removed pre-assembled during production. Unfortunately, they are not available as a replacement part.
Question:	what is the gap between where it is mounted and the gate itself? From this photo, it seems to be about a five inch gap? My cat could get through that
Answer:	The middle of the bottom bumper is 4 5/8" from the bottom of the gate and the middle of the top bumper is 27 5/8" from the bottom.
Question:	Do you think this could stop a 15 lb cat that's too fat to jump
Answer:	No. You need to lift up the bar and take gate aside to walk through and then set it up again. It is a draw back, but I still like it because it is simple and easy and reasonably priced. I do, however, admit that I use this gate on openings that I don't go in and out of very often.

Answer:	Hi. Mine did come with an external power adapter that connects to the WALL outlet. What you may be seeing is the video cable from monitor to camera cable. If so, that was a separate expense...different cameras have their own HDMI connector cable types. I will say that this has helped me get a MUCH better perspective on my STILL images. I notic pocket bulges from cellphones and keys or a shirt coming out of pants one one side and not the other and can correct these immediately for balance of shoot. I chose to attach to a "Small Rig" cage and not on hotshoe...scary with big batteries on back and "run and gun" event photo shoots, plus allows me to add strobe trigger if needed too.

Answer:	Love this product. I ordered two (1st one) worked well re. entry into the Fam. Rm but blocks Bath/Powder Rm Door and Toddler can see us and is somewhat comforted when we're busy (2nd one) there was a problem Gap frm Family Rm to the Kitchen a No No for the baby where the door gap-size is exactly 40-41" .... Even w/ the spindles ... this did NOT quite get it there with the basic product. Now need to order another 4" Extension.... Unfortunately the basic ordering page does NOT direct you to Extensions of this product .... hope this won't be a chore to order thru Amazon .... might have to contact Distributor directly But Product is 5 stars .... in my book ....

Answer:	My cat( 9-10 lbs) can fit through the widest part next to where the gate opens. I think it's 2.5 inches. But I put pipe insulation duct taped over that slat and I think it made it thick enough that we can't fit through anymore.

Answer:	My cats ( one 9 lbs the other 18) will not jump it from the ground but the 9-10 pounder will from the top of the couch next to it! He also can squeeze between the widest part of the gate( I think it's 2.5 inches?) so I put insulation for pipes on the slats and duct taped it there and he hasn't tried it so far. I think it Made it thick enough so he can't fit through. He is a very petite cat with a small head.

Question:	With the gate in door way will the bedroom door shut
Answer:	Yes and no. It has mounts that are shaped like a disk with raised edges that screw in. Then the gate has pressure mounts that fit into the disk that are screwed into the wall. The pressure mounts have a nut on it that you turn to tighten. It comes with a wrench you can use, but I used my own. These gates are not going anywhere. A lot of people complain how hard they are to remove them when they are done. When I started reading their complaints, I knew this was the gate. I rather have a gate that is hard to remove, because that equals a kid that is not going to get hurt. Walls can be repaired, my child's life cannot.
Question:	how wide is the actual gate opening
Answer:	For 29.5-32.3" use only the gate. For 32.3-35" use the 2.75" extension on hinge side. For 35-37.8" use the 5.5" extension on hinge side. For 37.8-41" use the 2.75" on latch side and 5.5" on hinge side. For 41-43.3" use the 11" on hinge side. For 43.3-46.1" use 2.75" on latch side and 11" on hinge side. For 46.1-49.4" use 5.5" on latch side and 11" on hinge side. For 49.4-51.6" use 5.5" + 2.75" on latch side and 11" on hinge side. For 51.6-54" use 11" on both sides. From the extension installation guide. I would fit for the narrow width (usually with baseboard).
Question:	Is this gate only pressure mounted? I'm looking for one that is screw mounted
Answer:	It's a pretty heavy gate. I have it installed into a stud. In one case I even nailed a 2x4 to the stud in the wall and then attached the gate to that. I wouldn't attach it directly to drywall (no stud), I can easily see it coming out of the wall.
Question:	The description is confusing. Does the gate with the included 2 3/4" extension go to 35" or is it 35" first and the extension makes it
Answer:	The hinge could be at 90 degrees, but you will need to mount it to a stud with larger screws than they include.

Answer:	It is normal. Just tighten the wall screws and that will push the gate inwards from both sides making the gap close. But you need to do some real tightening for that.

Answer:	At the top, with the gate open, the measurement from the hinge to the latch is exactly 17" (on mine). But that will depend on how much tension you have dialed in with the top two tension knobs. Could be a little less or more. The opening below the latch and hinge is 18.5" to 19", again, depending on how the upper tension knobs are set.

Answer:	My golden retriever figured out how to move the gate after reaching 40 lbs. He's probably closer to 50-60 lbs now and still growing. The fence is very unstable when pushed around by a dog. It has fallen down quite a few times doing damage on the fall. I tried using two in front of my stairs. Not an issue for my retriever to get passed. The bolted gate is probably better for larger breeds. I think any dog breed that is decent intelligence and over 40 lbs will figure this gate out in the long run.
Question:	How big is the opening to walk thru the gate
Answer:	I just measured the space between the slats and they are 1 1/2 inch apart. A small rabbit would have no problem getting thru but a big guy couldn't. We use our gate for a small puppy and it is well built and can't be pushed or pulled over. Hope this helps. J. Day

Question:	Could this gate be used for outdoors
Answer:	To answer Anonymous re outdoor use: I bought this gate (and also a slightly different North States gate as well, in a brown metal finish) to use in place of a screen door in my rental in order to let my cat see outside and get some fresh air. I have them both installed in the same door space (one lower, one upper) . The white one has been up about 2 months and the brown one about 9 months---and after a few months, both started to get slight rust stains at the bottom ledge where the slats are welded in. However, I haven't seen the older brown gate's rust get that much worse from month 3 to now (month 9), so I'm hoping that it won't turn into structural damage.The space they're in is slightly protected but does get afternoon sun, damp winds, and rain (though not much rain in this drought year)---I live in the SF Bay Area, in the cooler coastal part of the bay so there's a fair amount of humidity but no snow, sleet, etc. If I could go back in time I'd probably spray them with some kind of sealer before putting them up, but as it is I'll probably leave them up until I move again, and then perhaps recoat with a weather-resistant spray paint when I take them down (not that they're that hard to take down, but...I'm not that motivated to do it now!).If you're considering them for outdoor use, I'd give it a try but be aware that they aren't made for it, and will probably have issues (mine are still cosmetic at this point) sooner or later, depending on your climate.

Answer:	The latch for North States super gate is absolutely complicated enough so your toddler won't figure it out! You have to pull down the latch lock/catch while lifting the gate up at the same time to swing it open. A toddler will not be able to do this, which after using the gate for a week, I trust the safety and easy use of the gate!
Question:	Can a cat squeeze through the spacing of the bars, or could this work as a cat barrier
Answer:	No this does not work as a cat barrier. I have a very similar gate that works fine for the cat I'm trying to contain. But I have to go much higher as she can easily jump standard height. Even after I put anti-cat sticky tape on top rung she would climb it as evidenced by bits of fur on the tape. But that one worked. As I was installing this one with Mrs Sapphire inspecting, she waited till I was working on the second level and then just stepped through. After I sighed and stopped Mrs Sapphire from chasing Mrs April I got back measured. The bars on this gate are on 3 inch centers, the bars on the prior gate were 2.75 inch centers. The 2.75inch centers seem sufficient to deter 1year old energetic Mrs Sapphire, The 3 inch centers don't even slow her down.
Question:	Is the metal in the gate magnetic? I want to put a magnet on the wall to keep it open when needed
Answer:	Top and bottom rail are magnetic. My gate does not stay perfectly flush against the wall. It will stay open however, in either direction.
