Answer:	It will only go as high as the highest seat plate slot for safety reasons.

Answer:	The infant insert seat can be used without the tray. We were using it without the tray and pushed the seat up to the dinning room table and it worked excellent. I just took it off and we placed it onto a dinning room table chair and our 3 year old loved it. This was a great choice due to versatility. You can change it to accommodate your child as he or she grows. The only down fall (if you want to call it that) is you need to keep the provided hex wrench handy or have a set to make changes. Very sturdy. A great choice for us.

Answer:	I haven't and I've had the chair for 3 years and it's survived two kids, going on three.  My only issue with the tray are the clips it inserts into. They break very easily.
