Answer:	Thank you for your question. As the manufacturer of the Lotus, I'd like to share why we have designed the mattress to its current thickness. The federal standard for this product specifically limits the thickness to 1 inch and we recommend and warn against adding an additional mattress. Since this is a mesh sided product, having padding thicker than 1inch would allow for a gap to open between the mesh sides and the mattress causing a potential entrapment hazard. This is the same requirement and federal standard that traditional portable cribs are designed to (such as the pack n play). However, unlike traditional portable cribs, we use a very high quality padding in our mattress that is very comfortable for your little one. If you would like to add extra softness, we offer a plush quilted sheet that adds even more comfort. But, we don't recommend this unless your child is over 1yr. The American Academy of Pediatrics Safe Sleep guidelines advise that you don't add any extra padding to a mattress until your child is 1yr (a soft sleeping surface can be a suffocation hazard for newborns and infants if they end up on their tummy). Therefore we have adopted this recommendation for our plush quilted sheet.I hope that answers your question sufficiently. Answer:	Wish I could tell you. I thought the cheaper infantino was more comfortable on the back it has an x pattern for support this has the strap that goes horizontally. I'm having problems with that right now hurting my lower back. My daughter is 20lbs right now so I just carry her in my arms at this point. I'm 6ft male. 180lb. So all I'm saying is that the back support really does make a difference if you are a woman. My wife has been using it still, but her lower back hurts because she can't carry her in her arms all day. Try the cheap one first at your local babies r us. If you don't like it return it.

Answer:	I'm currently a Target size XXL in tops, size 20-22 in bottoms and I found this carrier extremely comfortable. It is adjustable in all the places I need it, and I have no problem getting enough strap extension. It's my favorite (of 6*, sadly, and most way more expensive, argh). My husband prefers the Infantino Newborn Unison because it has straps that cross in the back, and its stretchy fabric feels super comfortable and... maternal/paternal somehow - and holds the baby closer to the body than any of the others (our kid pushes back a lot). The biggest worry is that eventually the Convertible's thin strap padding (come on, at this price point, something has to be less than perfect!) will wear out - but I found a backpack strap wrap for extra padding, so this is still top for me. *Baby Ktan, Onya Outback, a water moby-like wrap, Infantino Mei Tai, the 2 listed above, and I tried a friend's Ergobaby
