I just get him up and dressed and put the cover in the washer. The one thing I would have liked is if it had a side piece of linen that I could tuck under the mattress on the sides. Since there is none I use part of the cover on the side to tuck underneath. This doesn’t allow it to cover the full size of the mattress but since it is for one elderly man, who usually stays on it. The reason I tuck it under is because if he is having a particularly restless night, he pulls it out and then I’m back to laundering the sheets again. I suggest if you buy this that you get the largest one that makes sense so you can do the same. His body weight on the mattress keeps it in place. I remember having one when my daughter was a baby that had the “tuckable” /unpadded sides. This product launders well. Good luck. |

I leave the fitted one on at all times and then I only change the flat one. I have 2 flat ones so I always have a clean one. If my mattress was waterproof, I would likely only use one.I would for sure have at least one pad on your waterproof mattress. You don't want to have to deal with pee getting into the mattress or even worse. It will stink and it's a pain to clean, then air dry. Even with cleaning, it will still have a pee smell. It's just a lot cleaner than not having one. The flat ones are super easy to change. |

| Answer: | I'm not sure about a few years ago but their current waterproof pads have a very thin layer of polyurethane (100% pure form and not the chemical form that results from the foam making process - per Naturepedic website) between the two cotton layers. Their website refers to it as "DrySleep" technology and explains they have to use polyurethane rather than the food-grade polyethylene in their waterproof pads because the latter breaks down in the washer/dryer. Their mattresses featuring a waterproof surface are made using polyethylene because a mattress itself doesn't go through a washer/dryer. But all of their waterproof pads, as far as I have read, have a thin polyurethane layer that is supposed to be safe and non-toxic. |

| Answer: | Definitely! I switched from using the disposable puppy pads to using these pads for my three small dogs. They work wonderfully! I just throw them in the washing machine with some bleach and hot water to wash and they come out beautifully. I save money on not having to buy disposable puppy pads, and I'm not creating more trash for the landfill. My suggestion for switching from disposable puppy pads to these pads is to put a puppy pad next to this pad on the floor and gradually transition your dog to the new pads. My 15 yr old pug had a bit of a challenge at first, thinking she was trying to "go" on something she should not. She was looking for the puppy pads, but it did not take very long for her to realize that these pads were the "new thing" for her to use. |

My nose says that these pads do not contain any formaldehyde. I would definitely be able to smell that as it has a very distinctive odor. (Think embalming fluid!) Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | Yep. I have 4 kids, including twins. Here's why you need this product, or one like it. Your baby starts crying in the middle of the night. You go in to feed him, and find that he's peed/pooped/spit up/vomited in the bed. Scenario 1: If you've made the bed the normal way, you spend an extra 10-15 minutes taking off sheets, cleaning the mattress, and re-making the bed (hoping you have another clean sheet!) IN ADDITION to taking care of your precious little bundle of joy's needs. The baby and you are now FULLY AWAKE. Good luck to you. Scenario 2: You've DOUBLE made the bed with this pad, a fitted sheet, another one of these pads, and another fitted sheet. You find the mess in the bed and take care of your little one, then simply pull off the fitted sheet and top pad, revealing the clean setup underneath. Put the baby back to bed, throw the mess in the laundry room to soak or to deal with tomorrow, and go back to bed. With all the times this thing has saved me some sleep, I'd say it's money WELL SPENT!
