Answer:	The mat itself is very portable, but the arcs that go over the mat do not fold up any smaller than what you see. It would be very difficult to transport them on an airplane. Travel in a car would probably be doable, but a plane would be hard.

Question:	What melodies the music box has
Answer:	It is portable. If you mean just on a daily basis for quick pick-ups, it folds up with everything intact. There are snaps on the two corners so you just fold and snap to acquire a half size shape. So just picture it half the size it is with the arches on the outside. I do that at the end of each day. On the weekends, I unsnap the arches and fold them up just as they were packaged using the original plastic straps and then fold the mat into a smaller size to put in the closet. My granddaughter is now 10 months old and I still use it. She still loves to lie on the smooth, silky, colorful fabric and look at the pretty colors and animal imprints. The little monkey that used to dangle from the arches is one of her favorite little guys. I did not expect to get this much use out of the mat. I had expected to box it up for long term storage when I decided it was time for the arches to come down but there are still things about the mat she likes. I babysit three full days a week and put this item at the top of my list of favorites. The designer got it right.
