10 best motorcycle wheel chocks
Motorcycle wheel chocks are essential tools used in garages and shops to secure motorcycles in an upright position. They are designed to prevent the motorcycle from tipping over or moving while performing maintenance, storage, or transportation. Here are some key points about motorcycle wheel chocks:
Purpose: The primary purpose of a motorcycle wheel chock is to immobilize the motorcycle's front wheel, preventing it from rolling or falling over. This stability is crucial when performing tasks like maintenance, cleaning, or loading the motorcycle onto a trailer.
Design: Motorcycle wheel chocks typically have a U-shaped or cradle-like design that holds the front wheel securely in place. They are often made of sturdy materials like steel or aluminum to provide durability and support.
Installation: To use a wheel chock, you position it on the ground or on a trailer bed and roll the motorcycle's front wheel into the cradle. The chock should be sized to fit the specific tire width of your motorcycle for a snug fit. Once the front wheel is in place, the motorcycle becomes stable and won't move.
Types: There are various types of motorcycle wheel chocks available, including:
Permanent Mount: These wheel chocks are designed to be permanently installed in a garage or trailer, providing a secure and fixed location for your motorcycle.
Removable Wheel Chocks: These are portable and can be easily placed wherever needed. They are often used for temporary purposes and are suitable for those who need to transport their motorcycles.
Adjustability: Some wheel chocks come with adjustable features to accommodate different tire sizes or motorcycle models. This flexibility ensures a secure fit for a variety of motorcycles.
Safety: Using a motorcycle wheel chock is a safety measure to prevent accidents and injuries. It's essential to make sure the motorcycle is securely in place before working on it or transporting it.
Storage: When not in use, many wheel chocks can be folded or disassembled for compact storage, making them easy to stow away in a garage or trailer.
Compatibility: Ensure that the wheel chock you choose is compatible with the size and type of motorcycle you own. Different wheel sizes and tire widths may require different chock models.
In summary, motorcycle wheel chocks are indispensable tools for motorcycle enthusiasts, mechanics, and anyone who needs to secure a motorcycle in a stable position. They come in various types and designs to accommodate different needs and can be a valuable addition to any garage or workshop. Properly using a wheel chock helps ensure safety and stability when working on or transporting motorcycles.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this good for a trailer. And will it fit a 2005 vstar 1100 classic |
Answer: | Yes it works great on a trailer and and yes it will fit your bike nicely. My trailer (Triton AUT1064) has channels in the bed to use carriage bolts to secure cargo. Unfortunately the angle iron on the chock was not wide enough (needed to be 48") for the channels so I bolted a longer piece of angle iron to it and drilled holes to fit the channels. It holds my 2007 V-Star 1100 Classic well while I attach ratchet straps to secure the bike for towing. Backing the bike out of the chock is no problem. I am considering buying another one so that I can tow two bikes. |
Question: | How well with this hold a 90/90-21 enduro tire? I'll be mounting it in a trailer and using it off-road behind my Jeep. Will it hold with straps |
Answer: | This will work well with your tire and using hold down strap(s) are always the way to travel on any trailer. Any issues with this chock are usually due to having a front fender that is so low in the back that it hits or drags on the adjustable chock cradle. I have the cradle pivot set in the middle position and it is perfect for my Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. I installed D rings on my trailer to secure the straps.Best wishes. |
Question: | Will this work with a 2010 Victory Kingpin with the lower sweeping fender |
Answer: | I have an Ultra classic and I had to remove the pivot piece and cinch my steer wheel in the remaining stand because it would've bent my fender. My guess is no. |
Question: | Anyone know if this will be okay for a 12" tire? im hoping to use it for a kawi z125, zx10, and dirt bike |
Answer: | I would not recommend this wheel chock at all,, very poorly made. It would not fit your 12" wheel properly, or a ZX10. I had to modify the one I bought heavily to work properly with my front wheel 120/70-17 for my ZX14R. I would recommend the Trackside Wheel Chock, I use it in my trailer,,, and it is great,, but more expensive. You get what you pay for ! |

User questions & answers
Question: | What settings are you guys using for your Ultra Classic |
Answer: | According to the website condor-lift.com, it states: “**The optimum setting for a specific tire would be the setting that allows the cradle to tilt as far forward as possible without making contact with the unit itself (SC-2000/CL-1000) or the unit’s mounting surface, or the ground (PS-1500).** http://condor-lift.com/image/catalog/supplemental_manual.pdf Please also see attached image as a reference from CONDOR Products. |
Question: | How much weight does this chock hold |
Answer: | My bike weighs 680 pounds. But that weight isn’t resting on the chock, it is only holding the front wheel in place so it doesn’t matter how much your bike weighs it will hold it. |
Question: | does this have to be mounted to the floor... looking to have in portable to use in the garage for working and in the driveway for washing |
Answer: | It does not. BUT, you will need a solid object/surface in front of the condor (like a curb or a wall) to brace it. With nothing in front of the Condor, it may move and slide around as you mount it. Having the Condor as a portable option is definitely possible though. They even make a small bracket that mounts to the floor (designed for trailers) that will properly secure your Condor in place. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to mount the small bracket to a concrete floor or driveway, given the proper hardware. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this made in the USA still |
Answer: | I went to their internet site and it stated that it IS made in USA |
Question: | I have a toyhauler, is this easily removed and reinstalled so I can have a flat garage floor |
Answer: | Yes and over all this is a very stable unit. If you want it mounted in a trailer with wood floor, it has the bolts to mount it after drilling and if they are the right length. If you mount it in your garage with a concrete floor then you would be using concrete anchors. These vary from a jam in type stud to a concrete lag bolt. The concrete lag can be removed but, if removed many times it may become loose and new holes may need to be drilled. The jam anchor with nut on top will stick out some but, should not bother anything when left in when removing the stand bracket. I have mine mounted in a trailer with wood floor and is amazing. |
Question: | Does the wheel chock come with all of the hard ware to mount it in the trailer or do you have to buy the mounting plate and bolting separately |
Answer: | Everything you need to mount the Condor wheel chock comes with the unit. It is easy to install, and over the last year of use has preformed flawlessly. I am very well pleased with the unit. |
Question: | Does this have to be mounted to any of my enclosed trailer's frame cross members or just to the 3/4" wood floor |
Answer: | Well, I guess it would depend on the strength of the 3/4" floor and closeness of cross beam supports and attachment. I used two bolts through the steel crossbeam, added an additional 3/4" piece under my 3/4" plywood floor and used the remaining bolts through the resulting 1 1/2" floor. It is very sturdy inside my enclosed trailer with rear ramp door. |

Question: | What tools are needed to assemble? I have to assemble away from home and need to bring only what tools are needed. Appreciate the help |
Answer: | I have a dog basket with a 17 pound dog riding in the basket on my rear rack. Very sturdy rack. I am not sure what the maximum would be but I know it would hold more than the 20 pounds I have on mine currently . Love it and looks nice too! |
Question: | HI, have any option to buy replacment parts? that wheel adapter got stolen from my trailer, and without it bit harder to secure the motorcycle |
Answer: | Yes, you can take the battery off with the rack attached, but you will have to remove the seat, which is no biggy. |
