| Answer: | Don't know the size. I purchased a filter wrench that is fully adjustable. I doubt you are going to find a one size only filter wrench. Get yourself an adjustable wrench and you shouldn't have any issues getting the filter off. You don't need the wrench putting it on, just hand tight. Truthfully, I usually can get the filter off by hand not even using a filter wrench. |

| Answer: | I work on many vehicles and if Mobil 1 filters are available I use them. My vehicle have made over 300K miles using Mobil 1 oil filters and FULL synthetic motor oil. Before choosing the brand (and since) I did research to determine what the best filter(s) is/are. This one scores consistently near the top without being outrageously expensive. My oil change interval has been every 10K since the 1980s. I have never had an engine failure while using this routine. 15K miles should not be much of a stretch. Of course it depends also on the condition of the motor, the way it is driven and the environment (extremely dusty might change things). While researching one of the things that was noted about the filter element in the Mobil 1 filter was the much larger surface area. This would aid in longevity. If you are not completely comfortable I would recommend doing an oil analysis to check for contaminants. This could be done at 10K and/or 15K miles. Best of luck with your decision. |
