Answer:	The tray is an open tray and the top width is 2.75" wide. We have hauled a 29r with 2.5" tires on it. It's a very versatile rack but a little slower to secure bikes than some of the other tray racks. It is a very nicely built rack.

Answer:	I am not sure. I would say that it will work for 3" or 8" tires assuming they are not that wide where they meet the road. The tire cradles on this rack are 2 1/2" at the top inside of the cradle. The straps might not go around such large tires either? It is a great rack. I love mine!

Answer:	Have yet to get snow with them. I’m guessing they’re not gonna be all that great. Definitely more on the side of a performance summer tire. I really like the dry and wet performance. They are a little “thumpy” when cooled but they want a quick. I run a Blizak winter tire in the colder months.
