Answer:	Okay, I mam answering this question on Oxt 1 2015 almost 1 year after it was asked because I just received a unit and opened to discover, to my dismay, that it does indeed have an HDMI port. It is not accurate to the pictures accompanying it here on Amazon. The previous person who said "no" was correct -- they didn't used to have HDMI. I don't mind the inclusion of HDMI however I bought this unit specifically for the VGA INPUT WHICH HAS BEEN REMOVED from the unit I received. I like to use these as portable computer monitors. I rarely ever use the DVD function or even the USB.SD card playback. I have not yet investigated whether the HDMI port can function aqs an input the way the VGA ports have done HOWEVER having looked through the menus and setup I can confirm that it is designed to output HDMI. The output video mode offers: 720p, 1080p, and AUTO. IMPORTANT NOTE* The DVD player DOES NOT appear to have any ability to play BLURAY or any type of High Definition discs. I have not attempted it however there are no markings on the machine or the box indicating that it can p-lay HiDef discs. That isn't conclusive proof, of course but I believe the reason it outputs in 720p & 1080p ia probably because it supports high def files thru USB, SD card and probably Hi Def files on at DVD as well. TO some people it may seem like I just contradicted myself but I did not. Having high Def files on a DVD data disc is not the same thing as having a high defintion video disc. At the moment I'm very tired and can't think of better words to explain that but hopefully someone else reading this who understands and has better use of his/her faculties than I do right now will supplement this with a better written explanation of that. I just wanted to get this bit of "news" out since it would ahve changed my decision to buy -- most likely. Whether I keep it hinges on whether it accepts HDMI input or only outputs. I'm all for adding new functionality...just not at the expense of removing the existing functionality. On that note, the unit I received also has the port fo0r the games USB controller and the TV antenna filled in -- like the way they do it on a car that doesn't have certain available options. SO that you can always see what should be there but isn't. They even have the filled in ports labeled on this unit. The HDMI port is not in the back where the VGA port should be. Its on the side. The unit I received does have the ability to copy CDs. as an aside, the TV function in these units has always been analog and the US switched to digital in 2009 though I just learned apparently it is usable with a converter box. . I'll update when I learn more. Oh one last thing that is cool that I personally haven't seen before. The unit I received also has the "upside down skeleton key-like holes on the "bottom" that purposely serve to allow it to be hung on a wall with the screen turned around folded down flat facing out. That's pretty cool ... just wish the VGA input port were still there. The regular standard definition composite video input and output are still there as 3.5mm jacks. That has not changed but they are of little use to me.
