Question:	Is the frame rubberized
Answer:	In short, I guess yes you could use it for that. Whether the dog will be scared by it would remain to be seen. You can even leave it in the "off" setting and still trigger the "warning" sounds simply by pressing the remote key. It would likely scare an animal without harming them. If you leave it mounted outside, you may want to put a plastic baggie over it to avoid getting it water logged. I think I saw somewhere that someone asked if they could use it for scaring birds of their car or something like that. I went--I think--about a year before I had to change the batteries too.

Answer:	The frame is not rubberized. It is however, in my opinion, a very high quality material that gives the look of a rubberized frame with all the durability, but not the weight. Nice fitting and love the eye socket cushioning around the inside frame. It cuts down on wind coming inside and causing vibration and eye watering. I’d buy them again in a heartbeat.
