Answer:	The only thing I can think of is that the small 'bar' to create slack is not pulled out, or that the chain is not centered properly. After everything is connected properly the slack 'bars' should be pushed in to create tension.

The Z-chains and Super Z-6 have a diagonal pattern, and which wire is wrapped by the steel cable, which bites into the snow and ice. Auto-trac, as the name implies are auto-tightening and self-centering. Super Z6 requires rubber tensioners. Z-chain does not, but needs to be retightening after you drive them for a short distance.
