Answer:	No, it will not fit. The bag is designed for a "standard" mat, i.e. 24" long. It is really simple math (or common sense) - think about it - if the mat is 26" long, the bag needs to be an inch or two longer in order for a rolled up mat to fit inside. Even if you were able to stuff the mat inside the bag, it would be so difficult that you would not want to do it on a regular basis.

One is used for my conducting batons, and the other one for carrying a flute. However, I've never checked them into a baggage hold on a plane. If I had to do so, I would line them with foam rubber for extra protection.
