Answer:	Yes, it came with the American Flag patch. There is room for two more patches side by side. I like the bag it seems well built and quality minded. I do not know how long anything will stay cold in it though. I only have 5 hours before my lunch hour and I keep the bag on my tool box until lunch time. My building stays around 70* year round. Great idea for the welding patch, lucky man to have a thoughtful wife.

Answer:	No. It will not fit a 9" plate. The base is about - I haven't measured it - 6"x9"

Answer:	If you leave an ice pack in there and a frozen water bottle you'd probably be fine.
