Question:	I just need a ceiling fan in a room that gets hot as opposed to the other rooms, would this work for me? I don't need it for a bathroom/ humidity
Answer:	It is a very fine mist. I had to let mine sit and soak up the water for about 15 min, then turn on again. Honestly, it is ok for very small spaces like a office desk or near your computer while you are working. Mine worked very well for about 9 weeks, then started to make a weird screetching sound while it was on. I may order another one or a similar model.

Answer:	Hi John, I am not sure at what heat it will turn on however it does have a thermostat which will turn on the fan or increase the fan speed from low to high when excessive heat is detected. I think it may be best to contact the manufacturer to ask what temperature threshold it is configured to turn on. I was able to find more information on the HEAT SENTRY system at Broan's Website in the instructions manual on page 3. Answer:	Not really, since it moves a lot of air. I'm not sure how quiet something that forceful can be. I needed it to move air out the windows so the 20' x 20' room could then be detoxed (cats) with an air purifier. I guess whether the noise is a factor, tho it's not as bad as many others, is a personal choice.

Answer:	This fan allows cooking fumes to pass through a grease filter and a thin replaceable activated charcoal filter. It cannot absorb large amounts of cooking odors or smoke. You need a fan that is ducted to the outside to effectively remove cooking odors and smoke.
Question:	Hi, the specification says it is 30 inch. My old range is actually 29.75 inch. Has anyone actually measured the exact length? 30 inch won't fit

Answer:	That's correct. The air flows through the filter on the underside and out through the three columns of vent slats you see on the front of the range hood. There is no connection to other vents or ducts in a wall or through the roof.
Question:	I will be plugging the rangehood into the wall, will I need a power cord kit
Answer:	I'm not sure what your setup is, but when I did mine, I hardwired the hood into the existing black and white wires that were used in the old hood. Chances are that if you don't have the pre wired design that I had, you will need a power cord kit if you plan to physically plug the unit into a traditional wall socket.

Question:	Replacing a Jenn-Aire downdraft with simple glass cooktop. Can this be installed under cooktop through an existing downdraft duct
Answer:	This 8210 utility-styled exhaust fan is a vertical discharge. It must be mounted I the ceiling. Please call our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151. Thank you.
Question:	is it difficult changing from an existing 7 inch duct to an 8 inch one through the roof
Answer:	The 8210 fan has a 9" diameter housing, but uses a 7 inch duct. The specially designed transition-type housing reduces the diameter of the housing opening to fit 7" round duct without the need for a reducer. If you already have 7" duct, you should not have any issues.

Answer:	It does not have magnets for your plastic fan base. I had to purchase magnets separately and attach to my plastic base. Plus, the magnets in this cover are not very strong, so I attached new ones over the ones built in

Answer:	It is meant to be on the inside of the house , however if you are getting a draft from around the edge of the fan, then I would suggest to install a filter as well to slow the draft a bit and to re-install a foam gasket around the frame of the fan,
Question:	Fan cover for 10" fans magnetic where can i get one
Answer:	Don't waste your money. Cheap plastic. Magnets don't hold this lightweight cover. Air comes in and blows it off. So disappointed
Question:	Does this product have one way air flow to stop cold down drafts
Answer:	It is not an air tight seal and the magnets are quite weak. I replaced the magnets with a set of four more powerful magnets. It has been an adequate draft/heat loss block (and the only one that I have found to attempt to do the job). It works well enough on our Kitchen chimney mounted exhaust fan that I don't have to remove the fan and brick it up. NOTE: there is just an oil furnace exhausted into the chimney (no wood stove). I would not rely on this cover if I used a wood stove in this chimney flue.

Question:	Can you use the fan without the thermostat feature? I don't want it going on and off all night long
Answer:	I think the other replies were with older models? I just purchased this model and there's no issue with opting out of the thermostat feature. As noted in the instructions, to get to continous air flow, you just keep clicking the button through the modes (first you click throught the various thermostat temperatures, and then you get to "high" or "low" as options. If you click high or low either one will stay on continously. Both options are extremely quiet. It sounds like the person who had a louid nose on the low setting had a defective fan.
Question:	I want to use this in a stand-alone one room dance studio with only one window. If it's very hot outside, will this really keep it cool inside
Answer:	It’s not an AC unit so it will only be as cool (or slightly less hot) as the air from the source. That being said you could use this fan on Exhaust to suck hot air out and use a tower fan to create a breeze in the room. But to cool a room on a 90+ degree day, I’d recommend a window AC. This fan will circulate air tho, so it’s not a bad place to start.
Question:	I need the CFM and decibel (noise) ratings on this fan. These are my two most crucial criteria, but no one shows them
Answer:	This is our second window fan. I don't remember what brand/model etc our first fan was, but the CFM WAS WAY higher than this Holmes fan. My assumption is by lowering the maximum fan speed & thus drastically lower the CFM, they can advertise the fan as being quieter and using less energy. ***We have used this fan for 2 years and we DO NOT recommend it if you are looking for a high CFM (volume) fan***

Answer:	I’ve been using an older version of this fan for about 20, yup, 20 years. I use it in a garage studio. Sometimes it runs for months 24/7. It’s slowing down, tons of dirt and mysterious things on it. While it is exhaling i spray wd30 on it till it speeds up again, lol. I have absolutely punished this fan. But like I said, I run it all year, summer and winter. One side died about 4 years ago, but the other is running as we speak. The reason I saw this is because I was looking to see if they still made it. Yay they do; and it is very quiet. Next paycheck I’m getting a new one. I love the intake exhaust function,brilliant! So happy they’re still available. Can’t go wrong, and not a lot of money.

Remove Screw with Phillips Screwdriver

Open the unit by removing the two mesh filters and locate the switch in the middle of the fan unit. Remove the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

Change Switch Position

Change the switch position to the ductless position which allows the exhaust to flow out of the front vent. Replace screw with Phillips screwdriver.

Add Charcoal Filter (Part # CFK4)

For this step, you will need Part # CFK4 Carbon Filter Kit, sold separately. Place the charcoal filter on top of the middle piece and screw into place. Replace mesh filters and your range hood is now ductless!
