I do not have a hot tub, just the 110gal indoor whirlpool tub. I can only speak to my own use, but I liked this product. For years, I used only automatic dishwashing liquid to clean the tub jets. To test this product, I did that cleaning first. Then I used the Whirl Out. The proof was more scale and black dots came out of the pipes with the second cleaning. Even the walls looked shinier.

To answer your question (and explain why I'm not a "verified buyer") ours DID come with a brown tarp. It's really thin but that is the "ground cover" they refer to that it comes with. We put it on our brick patio, with puzzle piece foam pieces sandwiched in between THEIR ground cover (again a super thin tarp) and OUR thicker tarp. With the foam puzzle pieces sandwiched in between, it feels really nice and I feel better about rocks and grass not getting through.
