Answer:	I don't know the answer, but: 1. Has it worked before? 2. How long have you had it? 3. If you remove the bottom, do you know what you are looking for? 4. Are you qualified to repair it and know that it will be safe to operate? 5. If you should find a frayed or blackened wire, will you absolutely know what caused it so that if you simply re-attach it, it will not spark or catch fire? Your question begets many more questions. It is my opinion that simply removing the bottom will not likely reveal the problem as it could be in the switch or other electronics. A small appliance repair shop may be able to tell you exactly the problem by sight or other equipment that is made to test electrical circuits. Be careful. Be safe. Answer:	I believe they suggest you change them every 3 to 6 months; I like to change seasonally.

Answer:	It comes with instructions on how to install, it's very simple. I used it to prevent that fine white dust that comes from ultrasonic humidifier and it seems to do a good job - haven't noticed any dust and I use it on high every night.
Question:	Can you clean the filter or do you need to replace
Answer:	Sorry. No, you can't clean a depleted filter. You'll need to replace. You should also clean the unit interior with white vinegar, warm water, and mild soap every couple of weeks if you're using everyday. You'll get gunk build up eventually. You can use the original filterless cap though, but when you see the gunk that builds up in the unit between cleanings, you've gotta think about breathing that in. My advice, get a new filter.
