Answer:	There are 3 levels of characters. The original ones known as 1.0 then their are characters for 2.0 and 3.0. The characters for each one can play in toy box mode in 3.0. You can buy the platforms for each level but the play sets only go with the set level your on. So its a yes and no answer. Yes you can use them in toy box mode only but if they are 1.0 characters and you have a 3.0 play set they will not work. Only characters liked to that play set will work.
