How to use

1. Connect the HDMI input source into the HDMI Splitter Box Input port. (HDMI Input cable).

Answer:	If you have a 4k monitor you can play at 4k. This is like the product description says a 1080p hdmi 1.4 splitter. Pretty sure 4k operates on hdmi 2.0 cable. I think you need a splitter that supports 2.0 hdmi. If you have two 4k monitors and use this product it might either not work or it might work but only let you display 1080p on your 4k monitor. I would google 4k splitter before buying anything, do some research.

Answer:	I use it with a 50’ HDMI cable to an outside TV with no lag at all.

However, you may need to avoid inputting signals using HDMI cables with Ferrite cores. (HDMI cables with Ferrite cores have a round cylinder located just before the connectors on each end.) I use 2 Techole switchers: One splits a Roku output between my TV and receiver and the other one does the same for a Blu-ray disk player. My first HDMI input cables had Ferrite cores and the Techole switcher did not work at all; no switch light and no output signal. However, when I used non-Ferrite core HDMI cables for the input signals, the Techole worked perfectly, even with Ferrite core cables leading from the Techole switcher to the TV and receiver. A switch will take two different HDMI sources or transmitters and make either available from one or the other to a receiver (the TV in your case). Hence, this splitter will not work for you.

Answer:	I have not used the splitter. It was purchased in error apparently. I was looking for a splitter that has the opposite functionality. As to connect multiple gaming consoles (outputs) to 1 television (input). The purpose of this item, however, is to split 1 input to 4 outputs. So based on this, there would be no auto switch necessary.

One end of the converter has an Optical Digital Audio In that you can connect to the TV's Optical Digital Audio Out and the other end has analog stereo RCA Audio Out (L/R) that you can connect to your older receiver.
