It will work on smaller inclines but not steep ones. Our driveway slopes down a little at the top and a lot near the bottom so the kids do just fine on the smaller inclines and will go down the driveway's steeper slopes but walk them back up those areas.

Answer:	It's plenty fast enough for a 3 year old. I am not sure of the actual mph, but I have to almost run to keep up. The car has one speed for forward and reverse. No gear box, just a lever that actuates switches for single reverse/forward speeds. Lots of torque, though. Untrimmed grass is no problem. The remote has multiple speed selections with repeated button presses of "S". It's pretty fun for my son to operate as a remote control car, in the seat or outside of the car.
