Answer:	I am not sure if you are asking whether or not this is a good present for a 6 year old or not. But, my son is 6 years old and he absolutely LOVES this set. His 13 year old sister actually likes playing with it as well. We are so impressed with it, that when he is complete with all of the projects, we are considering getting one of the more elaborate sets. If anyone has a 6 year old boy interested in this type of stuff, I recommend getting a set.

Answer:	I bought my 7 year old the jr and now wish I had opted for a bigger set. If you already have the 300, I would use that one. They sell an upgrade kit that takes the jr to a 300, so if you bought the jr and then gave the 300 to your child, you'd be duplicating half the kit.

Answer:	My kids are 10 & 12. They Love it! Plus it has upgrades to keep them happy when they get through the lesson book. Personally, I would not get this for a 5-7 yr old....it's electricity...no matter how safe they've made it.

I helped him with the first 2 projects and then after that I let him build each one and would show him if he made a mistake and how to correct it. You will definately have to explain to them what is going on though because they are too young to understand that from the manual themselves. Otherwise the parts snap together really well, the instructions aren't that hard and after each project, he likes to move parts around to see what changes.

Answer:	yes! My two 8 year old grandboys, gravitated to this kit and both became competent with 24 hours. The experimented and created their own complex circuitry. They even 'invented' some unlikely ways to use the components. For example, the red fan blade became a helicopter blade that whirled off the motor and across the room. With a little organizational control and introduction from an organized adult, they followed the rules and quickly adapted to taking turns and encouraging each other. I was very surprised and pleased by the way they accepted the challenges and commanded the concept of using and controlling the flow of e- to do work.

Great feature is that kids start by building the book's projects, but then build the confidence to create their own designs, and to test the impacts of substituting in other parts (e.g., how the sound diminishes as a stronger resistor is used). Question:	I purchased this kit and just opened but noticed it does not contain a manual. How can i obtain one? I got this for Christmas along with other kits
Answer:	I'd recommend Snap Circuits Junior for younger kids. They have better parts, more chunky, than the advanced version. Reading is needed for most projects-yes, for schematics -not really. Once you get the hang of it, what shows in which level layer, they are good to go. Basic letters and numbers, but the "Jr." might be better for a 5 yr old. Depends on how much time you are willing to spend overlooking his shoulder if he can't do something by himself. I'd say follow the mfg. guidelines on the box this one says 8+), minus one year for regular kids. It's also about their manual/manipulation skills. So trust what you know about your child.

Question:	I am very interested in giving one of these sets to my grandson. My grandson does not like loud sounds-will he be able to control the sound or not use
Answer:	We bought the Jr. set which is the first in this group and our 6 1/2 year-old loved it. He is almost 8 now and still plays with it.Probably the one you asked about may be a little much for a 14 year-old, but that is just a guess.I think I would get the Jr. set and see how it works and maybe if he wants/needs something more challenging, up-grade after some experience with it..I would also recommended some adult supervision at least getting him started.Our grandson loved his set.Please consider that I am almost totally inept with anything mechanical.I just buy 'em and he takes it out of my hands and had a great deal of fun.Very good for seeing mechanical relationships and being creative.
Question:	Did anyone else have this product not work right out of the gate? Fresh batteries, tried two different sets of new batteries. Any suggestions
Answer:	There is just a very basic statement regarding the science behind it. Despite that minimal information, it is still a great activity. My son loved it and it was a great tool for following directions, paying attention, making observations, asking questions, exploration and wanting to kind of experiment and best of all, it was fun.
Question:	Thoughts on sc-100 vs. beginner for a 6 year old? afaict, diffs are: sc-100 has more parts and more projects; beginner has easier diagrams
Answer:	Well, I have twin 8 yr. old granddaughters, and a 12 yr old grandson, and they liked them. I think it would be a wonderful gift. And nice for the girls to have something besides dolls to play with. Our girls need to learn to be engineers and architects and designers.
