Question:	Is this too difficult for a 5 year old
Answer:	According to the packaging warnings, yes, it is. However, the most basic care and attention can avoid any issues. Example, do not consume the chemicals with clear labels of their toxicity. You basically grow the crystal then put it in a display case. It is not for handling. I am not the most careful individual in the world and I did not perish using the product. My cat was smart enough not to consume the product as well. However, if someone were to get ill from the product, I think that would be considered natural selection more than anything.

Answer:	Crystals start growing immediately and are full size in 7-10 days, as long as the directions are followed carefully.
Question:	About how long does a experiment take
Answer:	For years. YEARS. It's been at least five years since I've last made these and their all missing their broken display cases but they just sit on my shelf. They are all perfectly fine, aside from maybe being pretty dusty.

Answer:	Yes it does. We used this for a Science Fair project

Answer:	I don't know. I no longer have the box. The project worked out great for science when doing online school.

Answer:	It has basic materials for "solar pasteurization" not disinfection. You can only boil away micro-organisms (which incidentally is not one of the kits experiments). As for the filter paper, you only get 3 pieces. My son used this kit for his four grade science fair, and we still had to buy supplies at the hardware store, as you only get a tiny bit. If you are using this kit for home schooling or just to demonstrate a concept--it might be fine as is, but if you're are using this to do multiple demonstrations (or even explore the concept more thoroughly) a trip to the local Lowe's or Home Depot is gonna save you a lot of time in the long run.

Answer:	Yes. Filtering salt water is just one of the experiments. The other experiment can be applied to rain water.

Answer:	The weather kit makes a REAL WORKING WEATHER STATION,hence "reusable" We have used it at the Da Vinci Science Center for 22 kids- and plan to use it again in Dec 2014 (25 kids). It is to track weather changes, allows the data to be plotted, and lets the kids share their data to learn the temperatures in one town vary a great deal-and are not always the same as at the AIRPORT!

Answer:	Each weather kit allows the parent and child to explore different aspects of the weather. They can either be purchased separately and enjoyed, or purchase one to see if your child is engaged by it and then purchase the 2nd set to round out the experience but either kit by itself would be educational and interactive. The answer truly depends on the child so if you are unsure of weather (haha get it?) Or not your child is going to be engaged by weather "experiments" you would be better off only purchasing 1 or the other and purchase the 2nd set if they get excited or engaged by it. Answer:	I would imagine yes. I got the dark blue ones... but ZERO light gets through, due to the design/fabric. The thing I really like about these is that the back is the same color as the front. So many blackout curtains have white backing - so they look like junk from outside. These look nice. If they are listed as room darkening and they DONT block it out, you should be able to return them. But based on the ones I got, I think they'll be fine.
