We have had kids in the store using it who are 5, 7, 9, personally I think that is the ideal age range for it, I am not sure what you mean by "raise it up". Answer:	Either the advertising is wrong, or every answer to this question is. The weighting variants for keyboards is: synth action, semi-weighted, fully weighted, hammer action. Synth action is a spring and feels like a toy. Semi-weighted are springs but with weights to keep them from springing back up too quickly, but they also feel very unnatural. Fully weighted has a more natural feel, but each of the 88-keys has the same resistance and rebound. Hammer action has actual hammers and weights built into the keys, giving them the most natural feel, and if they are "graded" hammer action keyboards, the lower octaves are heavier than the higher octaves.

Answer:	As an adult with a musical background, I have not used the Yamaha Education Suite. However, I would highly recommend the Yamaha YPG-535 keyboard as a beginner's tool (if the student will stick with it, as it is a little costly). There are many features to help a beginner learn such as the built in metronome, the play along features, and the recording option. Best wishes to you in your final decision.

Answer:	The stand we received is black - we ordered it end of July 2012. It did come with a book rest that attaches to the top of the keyboard, centered behind the silver part of the top. The book stand is a dark gray composite plastic and simply snaps into the holes.

Answer:	It comes with a sustain pedal, I believe. Other pedals might be available for purchase, but the sustain pedal adds so much to its use. I think this is an awesome instrument and I have not yet explored all the functions that it is capable of! It will connect to standard amplification systems. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase, and I use it in the home for my personal use. The grandchildren love it, also, and I can report that crumbs and sticky fingerprints do not phase it in the least! Hope this helps!
